Welcome Xavier Crevoisier Mathieu Assal Pierre Hoffmeyer Dear Colleagues, Foot and ankle surgery has made tremendous progress in the last few years. Today, surgeons can choose from a selection of treatments for hallux valgus and arthrosis in the ankle. These open up an even wider variety of surgical options depending on the foot pathology. We are excited to offer you a programme which will include the management of hallux valgus deformity and current concepts in the treatment of arthrosis of the ankle. The EFORT IC Geneva 2012 should facilitate the sharing of expertise and a deeper understanding of the current body of knowledge on aspects of foot surgery. A real benefit for participants are the five live operations demonstrating the principles of hallux valgus surgery, which we feel will enhance the overall learning experience. The course is designed to be interactive with audience participation and workshops. Furthermore, Geneva is an attractive city at the heart of Europe, with many cultural sights. It will provide the perfect environment for this stimulating course. EFORT and the local organising committee cordially welcome you to this Instructional Course. Xavier Crevoisier Mathieu Assal Pierre Hoffmeyer Chairman Chairman EFORT President
