All Occasion Craft Club - Wallacetown Lifeskills By Pam Silva This club was a lot of fun. Each meeting was a different occasion and the crafts were as follows: Thanksgiving: Painted charger plates were made with a glittering pumpkin and leaves. Halloween: Paving stones were painted and decorated to look like Frankenstein. Christmas: A melting snowman was made from wood and styrofoam. Valentines: Valentines cards and a mini gift box were made. St. Patrick s Day: An awesome 4-H Kleenex box was made showing the emblem, pledge, and Motto. Rosemary Goble was the guest that night and demonstrated how to build the box. We used a variety of cool tools, such as the Cuttlebug, to assemble the box. Easter: A large coffee can was decorated and assembled as an Easter Bunny Basket. Melted Snowman In this club we also judged a class of Christmas Ornaments. Making Easter Bunny Basket For the achievement program we had each member bring a guest with them. We then broke into 3 groups and made 3 different Christmas decorations. The decorations were; paper towel rolls painted, cut and assembled into snowflakes using pipe cleaners; tissue paper flowers; and mice made out of felt that held a candy cane. These decorations were all donated to our local church for them to sell at their annual Bazaar. 4-H Kleenex Box cover Elgin County 4-H Newsletter-January 2012 Page 5
