ABOUT THE EVENT Now in its nineteenth year, the KTAR News & Arizona Sports Give-A- Thon benefiting Phoenix Children s is hosted every August. Last year the state of Arizona once again showed off its generosity raising a record $1.72M during the 19-hour radio simulcast on KTAR News 92.3 FM and Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. It also maintained its position as the top children s hospital radiothon fundraiser in the country. Since 2009, the event has raised more than $12 million. The event is simulcast over two days and includes many of the on-air personalities you love to listen to on KTAR News 92.3 FM and Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. They are joined by Valley celebrities, a phone bank staffed by sponsors and volunteers, wonder dogs from the pet therapy program, and patients and families sharing their inspirational stories. All donations help save young lives by supporting the Hospital s Hope Fund, which finances innovative research, cutting-edge technology, the recruitment of leading physicians, and the childfriendly programs and services that make the hospital environment more comfortable for young patients.
