Way to go, Malinda! https://www.facebook.com/chascountygov /videos/308536799774056/ Ending the Silence in the News NAMI South Carolina s Executive Director, Bill Lindsey, was interviewed about NAMI s programs. He stated Ending the Silence is the fastest growing program in our organization. Because the students are so attuned to what s been happening in their schools and across the country. The article goes on to discuss two bills filed by Senator J.A. Moore to address mental health education in our schools and requiring that for every 200 students, at least one staff member be trained in mental health counseling. WCIV CHANNEL 4 FEATURED A STORY ON CAREGIVERS On Friday Feb22 on channel 4 (WCIV) 6:00 news reporter Anne Emerson featured a story on caregivers called Are we taking care of our Caregivers? She interviewed a mother of a severely mental ill son. This mother who preferred to be anonymous shared her story of the stress that comes from being a longtime caregiver. During a particularly challenging time and low point a nurse recommended she contact NAMI. She tells how through NAMI she was able to better understand mental illness and the resources that are available to help. She stressed the importance of realizing when you need a break and it is just too much.
