Page 2 Page 3 Current concepts in normal kinematics and joint line preservation in TKA with JOURNEY II Description Learning objectives This masterclass is designed to challenge convention and present modern concepts in Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) with a view to delivering improved patient outcomes. The course focuses on better replication of the normal kinematics of the knee, the role of the anatomic joint line and the surgical principles and tips and tricks to achieve this in both BCS and CR knees. By attending this masterclass, Health Care Professionals (HCPs) will be able to: Identify the core principles of knee biomechanics and kinematics Define modern design concepts and their influence in balancing and alignment Discuss the importance of the role of the anatomic joint line Explore the relationship between improved kinematics and better patient outcomes Identify the implication of these principles while implanting JOURNEY II prosthesis Invited Chairman Professor Jan Victor Ghent University Ghent, Participant profile HCP with typically a minimum of 2-3 years experience in knee replacement surgery HCP wishing to increase their knowledge of the anatomic joint line and recreation of the knee normal motion HCP wishing to share knowledge and debate clinical opinion with an expert faculty HCP must have either advanced or fluent level English language skills Products and technologies Invited Faculty Professor Fabio Catani University of Modena Modena, Italy Dr Alois Franz Hospital for orthopedic surgery and sportmedicine St. Marienkrankenhaus Siegen, Germany JOURNEY II BCS and JOURNEY II CR VERILAST Professor Hilde Vandenneucker UZ Pellenberg Pellenberg
