Health & Fitness The Newsletter About Your Health And Caring For Your Body About Loudoun Sports Therapy The Physical Therapists at Loudoun Sports Therapy Center are medically trained, licensed professionals who hold a Masters or Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Our training and education centers around how the body should work in its normal state and how to recognize and then provide care for abnormal or dysfunctional states. Through their training, our therapists have learned to recognize abnormal states of the body, abnormal mechanical movement, and overall dysfunction. From this information, our Physical Therapists utilize their skills, medical training, and knowledge to develop a treatment plan specific to each individual patient. Then, they guide the patient through their rehabilitation process in a safe and efficient manner. The goal of therapy at Loudoun Sports Therapy Center is to impart positive change on the body over a short period of time; thus, effectively increasing activity level and promoting overall better health and quality of life. Our goal is to get the RESULTS you and your Doctor are looking for! At Loudoun Sports Therapy Center, our therapists take the above approach and go the extra step further. Our additional goal is to teach you, the patient, about your condition with respect to all aspects. We teach you not only how to treat your condition, but how to prevent the condition in the future. We want to help you to become a member of our team and to actively participate in your care. OUR GOAL Don t let pain limit you. We Care, We Listen, We Get Results! Our goal is to utilize the latest hands on treatments and technical equipment to provide the patient with the most up to date and beneficial treatment known in today s market. Our therapists are highly skilled and certified in their field. Unlike many therapy facilities in the area, we tailor your treatment to your specific needs and problems rather than using the same treatment approach for all diagnoses. This means that you will get care that is directed to your specific needs. By doing so, we will get you great results.

What is physical therapy at Loudoun Sports Therapy Center? Physical Therapy is a non-invasive, hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function. Physical therapists are medical experts in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions who work closely with physicians. Our physical therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your pain, and work to eliminate it. Every patient s condition and pain is unique and we take the time to determine exactly what your condition is and what it will take to improve and recover. Your physical therapist will use a variety of gentle hands-on techniques, exercises, and equipment to relieve pain quickly and restore your function to optimum levels. The overall goal is to restore pain-free mobility and function and to instruct you the patient in how to prevent the injury or pain from reoccurring. Can I come to Loudoun Sports Therapy without seeing my doctor? Yes. As a patient you have the right to receive physical therapy at any place you choose. At Loudoun Sports Therapy Center, we want you to choose us! Our exceptional staff will provide you with the highest quality healthcare from the first point of contact through the completion of your care. Our physical therapists offer unique knowledge and get excellent results. Your Physical Therapist will conduct a full and thorough evaluation to determine the cause of your condition and establish a plan for therapy. Does my health insurance cover my treatment? Yes. Loudoun Sports Therapy Center participates in ALL insurances and we are In-Network for all insurances. Prior to your initial evaluation, our staff will contact your insurance company to verify your insurance benefits as a courtesy to you. For patients without health insurance or those who have maxed out their Physical Therapy benefits for the year, we offer an affordable private pay plan to allow you to get the results you need by completing your Physical Therapy plan of care. For more information, visit our insurance plan on our website. What types of education/training do your therapists have? Physical therapists have years of University level training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology (study of joint movement), neurology, and many of the other medical sciences. After graduating with their Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, our therapists regularly attend continuing education courses to advance their knowledge and better serve you. Our physical therapists have graduated from accredited physical therapy programs and are state licensed. Rest assured, your therapist is well trained to evaluate and treat your condition. Do you offer programs for me once I m better? Yes, once you have completed your therapy sessions, your therapist will review your continuing home program. We do offer a variety of programs to continue your strengthening and fitness goals, maintain your health and prevent injury. Ask your therapist today for more details.

Patient Results What patients are saying... No more neck pain! Before therapy I could barely turn my head and I had pain down my right arm all the time. The doctors told me I had herniated disc in my neck. Now after just a short period of time in therapy I don t have any pain in my arm and I can turn my head all the way!!!! - Kathy C. Eliminated pain by using proper technique! I used to dread yard work because my back would start to ache and get sore. Now I understand the proper technique to dig holes, lift bags of mulch, and plant things. I did some yard work this weekend and I felt good the next day - Brian B. I can run without any problems! I thought my running days were over. Now I can run without any problems. I can move how I want to without experiencing pain or limitation of any kind. I appreciate the dedication and education that Loudoun Sports Therapy gave me. I will think of them every time I am running - Mike S. In addition to therapy services, we have special programs for... Vestibular Physical Therapy Physical Therapy geared towards eliminating your symptoms of dizziness and imbalance. This therapy involves an individualized exercise based program to promote central nervous system compensation for inner ear deficits. Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) Knots in your muscles are also known as trigger points, which are typically associated with muscle tightness and pain. TDN is a treatment for muscular tightness and spasms which commonly follows injury and often accompanies a chronically painful condition or dysfunction. Runners Program Whether you run for good health, to relieve stress or for any other reason, you are likely to suffer from an orthopedic injury of some sort. These injuries are related to the wear and tear that is placed on your joints and the soft tissue around them including the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Physical Therapy can not only help you recover from these injuries but can help significantly in preventing them as well. Dance / Performing Arts Therapy The unique needs of a dancer are often not well understood by health care providers who do not have prior experience and knowledge of the demands a dancer places on their body. A Performing Arts Physical Therapist is an expert in being able to identify movement impairments specific to dance techniques. Without correction, these impairments may eventually lead to injury or problems with performance not to mention constant pain. Massage Therapy Whether you are recovering from an accident, sports injury, surgery, or just need to unwind, massage is a great compliment to enhance your recovery goals. Therapeutic Massage has many benefits. Deep Tissue treatments help to break up scar tissue, realign muscle fibers, reduce edema, as well as release adhesions and myofascial constriction. Massage can also increase circulation and lymph flow, helping you to clear harmful toxins and help you feel better sooner.
