The fourth and last meeting of the 2012-2013 school year took place at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Florida on May 31 st, and June 1 st, 2013. The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Galvan. There were 13 members present. Members gave feedback from the National Migrant Conference. Arcelia Lopez expressed that she learned a lot at the conference. Guillermo Ramirez was very happy to have attended the conference. Lucia Esquivel presented members with the information that needs to be in an evaluation report. Dr. Pouncey gave members information on the Common Core State Standards and how this will affect students as well as teachers. The members received the MAL- DEF training on how to Develop an Action Plan. Overall, this year s meetings have been very instructive. We are looking forward to another school year filled with more trainings and workshops to empower parents in getting involved in their child s education. Have a safe summer! Message from the FMPAC President First of all I would like to thank each and every one of you for participating in the 45 th National Migrant Conference held in Orlando this year. I hope that you all learned a lot and that you will take what you have learned back to your districts. I also hope you all met lots of new people. I hope everyone had fun at this year s conference. Next year s conference will be held in San Antonio, Texas. I would like to thank Dr. Maria Pouncey for not letting us be by ourselves at this huge conference. For taking the time to teach us what we needed to know so that we could be prepared for this and any other conference and for showing us to have confidence. Thank you, Elizabeth Galvan FMPAC President
