Lerner, MD Mohit Khera, MD, MBA Ellen Seaback, CMP, CAE Needs The rapidly changing health care environment and pace of technologic innovations in medicine require urologists to keep abreast of state-of-the-art diagnosis and management of urologic disease. This annual conference focuses on current controversies and innovative diagnostic and treatment strategies for some of the most common urologic problems faced by clinical urologists. Objectives At the conclusion of the activity, the participant should be able to: Develop an appropriate strategy for the observation of small renal masses Identify appropriate treatment options for patients with renal or bladder trauma Identify ways to medically and surgically treat male erectile dysfunction and complications that may arise Identify preoperative cardiac risk factors for patients undergoing urologic surgeries Educate patients with locally advanced kidney, prostate, and bladder cancer regarding integration of neo and adjuvant therapies for these common urologic cancers Delineate current strategies in erectile preservation following radical prostatectomy, including a rational treatment strategy for hypogonadal testosterone deficiency Describe the current management of Peyronie's Disease, genital trauma, and complex urethral strictures Develop a strategy for managing complex stone disease that has failed traditional ureteroscopic management Avoid pitfalls in the application of surgical robotics to renal surgery Educational Methods Lectures Syllabus Case Presentations Question and Answer Sessions Video Presentations Target Audience Urologists, physician assistants, nurses Evaluation Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias. Accreditation/Credit Designation Baylor College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Baylor College of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 12.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
