When needed, surgery can be performed on-site to treat fractures, painful deformities, instability, arthritis and other ligament and tendon problems. Your Podiatric Team Your Orthopaedic Team Dr. John Giurini, Chief of the Division of Podiatric Surgery at BIDMC, is an Assistant Professor in Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Deaconess Hospital. He is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. His clinical interests include diabetic foot wounds, reconstructive foot surgery, and sports injuries. Dr. John Kwon serves as Chief of the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Service at BIDMC and is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He trained in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic residency program. He is a world-renowned expert on foot injuries and has published extensively on foot and ankle trauma. Dr. Christopher Tveter is an Instructor in Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency in podiatric surgery at Steward St. Elizabeth s Medical Center. His clinical and research interests include reconstructive surgery for common foot deformities and diabetic wounds. Dr. Christopher Miller is an Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He completed his medical school and orthopaedic residency at Yale University School of Medicine followed by a foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women s Hospital before joining BIDMC. His research interests include post-operative pain control, bunion correction and fractures. Nurse Practitioner Alyssa LeBlanc (left) and Physician Assistant Brianna Whitehouse (right) work closely with our doctors to provide outstanding care.
