Bonus years FALL 2017 Quarterly Newsletter of Senior Adults of McFarlin UMC

Senior Opportunities at McFarlin UMC Bonus Years: luncheons, trips, Sunday lunches Wow! I am impressed by the amount of activities and participation I am already seeing within the Senior Ministry. Let me introduce myself my name is Carrie Gardner. I am the new Director of Senior Adult Ministries. I know I have some big shoes to step into. I first want to reassure you all I am not here to make huge changes. Our mission as a church is Changing Lives that Change the World. Change is scary; I get that, especially at times when we are unsure of the unknown. If you look back, many of you have dealt with this throughout your life and could be in a comfortable place; however, we change every day to promote growth. I am talking about the growth of each person spiritually through your gifts. As we start to grow our senior adult ministry to include more generations, we celebrate that we all bring unique circumstances to the table. We are a team! A MESSAGE FROM CARRIE GARDNER Director of Senior Adult Ministries Through your surveys, advice from the McFarlin UMC members and other research, I am excited to explore opportunities for growth in Senior Adult ministries. McFarlin has so much already set in motion, many of us do not know about. By being good stewards of our resources, we need to plug into ministries already established as well as implement new ones. We will do this slowly, be patient, but hang on. I am here to learn from all of you please pray I have the energy to keep up with you!
