FF-Wisconsin-Madison Membership Event Our Club Vision for 2022 See ourselves as a fun welcoming group with a membership that reflects a diversity of culture, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity. Membership Event Taupo Membership Recruitment program used as model. It is described on the FFI web site under Member Resources Membership Committee led the effort. Decision made to promote the event as 40th anniversary celebration/ membership recruitment event and for the club to fully fund the event from reserves.
Location and Invitations Selected attractive location: Frank Lloyd Wright designed building Asked Members to provide us with names of potential members Also obtained names of prospective members from Table at International Festival Tables at other events Facebook Next-door Neighborhood site Eventbrite Prepared attractive, colorful, professional invitations: 103 invitations were mailed to (150 referrals) 2-3 weeks in advance. In addition some invitations were personally delivered by members or at the International Festival Followed up with calls or Emails with anyone that did not RSVP. 25% indicated they would attend. Only 3 indicated they were not interested at all.
Program: Two hours including time for refreshments and social time. Speakers covered EXPERIENCES on Inbound and Outbound journeys, Hosting and Dave Kalan served as our guest speaker. We displayed videos from Jeremi Snook and an FFI promotional video. Personal name tags prepared for guests. Volunteers served as greeters, table hosts, provided desserts, staffed information tables, provided table decorations etc. The speakers scripts were reviewed to keep the message on target and within time limits. Slides consolidated into a single power point to save time Broke for light refreshments comprised of international foods. The break also provided time to visit information tables and socialize.
Membership forms were revised and available on each table. Activities calendar also on each table. Awarded Door prizes and announced 2019 journeys at the end of the program to encourage people to stay. Reduced membership fees by 5.00 for the day of the event. Results 59 of our members attended. 20% of invitees attended and 63% of those that attended joined. 3 asked to be removed from our list. The remaining 127 are still prospective members. 16 indicated they would like to attend a future event 2 previous members renewed Total of 28 new members since January 1st. Next Steps 1. Assign Mentors Each new member/couple will be assigned to a mentor Mentor will contact the new member once per month for 6 months Role: Answer questions, cover club procedures for hosting, being ambassador, history of Friendship Force, invite to activities. Get them involved! Goal to retain new members and encourage them to invite their friends to join.
