Rinse mouth. Keep subject warm and at rest. Seek medical attention immediately. If splashed in eyes, rinse cautiously with water for at least 15 minutes. Continue rinsing, & if eye irritation persists, seek medical attention. If skin or hair contact occurs remove contaminated clothing and wash affected area thoroughly with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If skin irritation or rash occurs, seek medical attention. Dispose of contaminated clothing promptly. Remove patient to fresh air. Lay patient down and keep warm and rested. Page 3 Section 6: Accidental Release Emergency procedures In case of spillage it is important to take all steps necessary to: Avoid eye and skin contact. Avoid contamination of waterways Procedure for spill: (1) Keep all bystanders away. (2) Wear full length clothing, PVC gloves and eyewear (3) Reposition any leaking containers so as to minimise further leakage. (4) Dam and absorb spill with an absorbent material (e.g. sand, soil or absorbent granules) and place in a sealable waste container. (5)Ventilate area and wash spill site after pick-up complete. (6) Dispose of waste safely in an approved landfill. Section 11: Toxicological Information Inhalation: Inhalation of vapours or aerosols (mists, fumes), generated by the material during the course of normal handling, may be harmful. Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed Abamectin: Oral LD50 11 mg/kg (rat), 14 mg/kg (mouse) Skin: The liquid may be miscible with fats or oils and may degrease the skin, producing a skin reaction described as non-allergic contact dermatitis. May cause skin irritation on prolonged contact. Is a contact sensitiser. Eye: May cause transient discomfort and redness following eye contact. Injection: Effects may vary in severity according to the quantity involved, from localised site reaction (pain, redness, swelling) to a more acute systemic reaction. Chronic Effects: There is limited evidence that skin contact with this product is more likely to cause a sensitisation reaction in some persons compared to the general population. Sensitisation may result in allergic dermatitis responses including rash, itching, hives or swelling of extremities. Reproductive Toxicity: There is some evidence from animal testing that exposure to this material may result in toxic effects to the foetus, and may be harmful to development of breast-fed children. Mutagenicity: Not considered to be carcinogenic, based on the results of animal studies. Carcinogenicity: Not considered to be carcinogenic, based on the results of animal studies.
