After briefly reviewing the relationship between the diaphragm and the pelvic floor this workshop will explore identifying and releasing pelvic restrictions, increasing awareness and connecting the periphery to the center. We will use the breath as the key to self-awareness and harmonize the timing between breathing and moving. *Pilates My Asana: Pilates Fundamentals For Yogis* This workshop will dissect common yoga movements like downward-dog, plank, upward-dog and lunges and discuss what the common faults are and how Pilates concepts and exercises can help improve efficiency in a yoga practice. Using the Polestar Principles of Movement we will discuss the bio-mechanics of these common movements and shed light on the similarities and differences between a yogic approach vs a Pilates approach. Deepening our understand of the objectives these two disciplines have for the same movement will help to increase a Pilates instructor s understanding of common yoga poses, thus increasing their ability to support individuals yoga practice.

*Undo Hours of Sitting: Safely Working with a Sedentary Population* Not many would argue that the demands placed on the body in todays modern world are causing a wide-range of physical disorders. This workshop will discuss the most important areas that Pilates instructors can help sedentary individuals become more active in a safe and efficient way. Highlighting the mobility of the thoracic spine and hips we will focus on how to best sequence movements to offer the best possible outcomes. Meredith Rodgers *The Art of Cuing* This BASI Pilates workshop focuses on one of the most fundamental of all Pilates teaching skills, "cuing". The basis for all communication between teacher and student, cuing demands great skill; information must be conveyed, received and integrated within milliseconds to bring about the desired result. Good cuing is integral to any skilled teaching session. This course will focuses on the various lines of communication between teacher and student. Participants will take part in a series of cuing exercises and drills that enhance the necessary teaching skills for effective communication and successful teaching. Each cueing exercise teaches workshop participants how to better communicate with their clients through advancing their verbal, tactile, and visual cueing skills. *Optimizing Shoulder Mechanics with Pilates* Subtitled "Shoulder mechanics, function and the Pilates repertoire", this BASI Pilates workshop is an upper girdle extravaganza! Immaculate control and correct shoulder mechanics are essential in Pilates, particularly when preforming the higher-level work. This workshop focuses on understanding and implementing correct shoulder mechanics, both while performing the Pilates repertoire and in everyday activities. Shoulder related problems are among the most frequently encountered among clients, and shoulder related cues are among the most common given when teaching. Focusing on the evolution of approach to this region of the body, this subject needs to be addressed and understood by every Pilates teacher. *Enhancing Athletic Performance* Athletes represent a very specific population and as such special considerations should be applied to serving their needs. This BASI Pilates workshop will guide the instructor through the unique and valuable applications available for the athlete directly related to the Pilates method. Challenging muscle groups with precision of movement in strength, flexibility, and endurance will provide the necessary tools to structure demanding, yet well rounded sessions, for the professional (or weekend) athlete in your studio.

Every Redcord course is substantiated by more than 20 years of scientific research and practical experience documenting the effects of suspension-based exercises on the well-being of individuals, and on the recovery from injuries and health conditions. All exercises and applications are currently used by medical and fitness professionals to facilitate rehabilitation, prevent injuries and enhance performance.
