When school is out, the Clubs are in! When the school bell rings on any given day in Phoenix, many children are left without adult care or supervision. Increasingly, youth and teens whose parents or guardians work must find their own recreation and companionship in the out-of-school hours. Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix (BGCMP) fills the critical need for out-of-school supervision and care by providing a safe, nurturing environment for kids to learn, recreate, socialize, and develop into caring, responsible members of the community. We ensure that cost is never a barrier for a child or teen. The Club has been a tremendous help to my family. I can safely leave my children there for a very affordable price. I like the positive attitudes of the staff the homework power hour, field trips, and the art program. BGCMP PARENT

Our programs aren t just fun everything we do has a purpose. We want to ensure kids academic, social and emotional success. ACADEMIC SUCCESS Learning doesn t end when school is out. Our programs are designed to foster a culture of high expectations and academic achievement. We focus on increasing high school graduation rates and decreasing school absenteeism, and we encourage kids to create ambitious, achievable post-secondary goals. Every Club offers a unique array of proven programs designed to educate and delight our members. All Boys & Girls Clubs offer academic enrichment programs, including STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) initiatives, homework help, financial literacy, and summer programs to prevent summer learning loss. What I really like is how the staff empower and build up the children s self-esteem through encouragement and the programs offered. BGCMP PARENT

BE GREAT, DO GOOD At BGCMP, we teach our Club members the importance of giving back to the community. We equip our youth and teens with the tools they need to become responsible, caring adults and active, participating members of the community by offering character development and leadership skills programs. HEALTHY CHOICES Our Clubs provide more than just care and recreation. Through our health and wellness programs, we offer a variety of resources to help our Club kids make healthy choices. 7,680 NUMBER OF COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS COMPLETED BY CLUB MEMBERS Our proven programs equip our youth and teens with the tools (and the confidence) to take responsibility for their actions. Through a combination of nutrition education, team sports, and gym time, our healthy lifestyles platform teaches young people that informed decisions about health and social issues is the difference between a life with limited options, and a life filled with hope and opportunity. 275,746 MEALS FREE, HOT, HEALTHY MEALS SERVED TO HUNGRY 257,792 SNACKS NUTRITIOUS SNACKS SERVED TO KIDS AFTER SCHOOL 93% OF PARENTS THAT AGREE OUR CLUBS HOT DINNER AND SNACK PROGRAMS MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THEIR FAMILIES! Every $1 invested generates $18.22 in positive benefits to the community BGCMP s Economic Impact How do you measure the economic impact of an investment in a child s life and well-being? We have story after story from kids, young adults, and parents who tell us how BGCMP changed their lives for the good And, thanks to an economic impact study in 2016 conducted by the Seidman Research Institute, W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, we have numbers to quantify the economic impact we have in the Phoenix Metro area. Total estimated value of all socio-economic benefits: $204.9 million 4,155 Club member households continued to work, thanks to the provision of safe, affordable after-school care at BGCMP, benefitting the Arizona economy by $126 million in one year. Other benefits included: Improved rates of high school graduation and the lifetime earnings of Club members. A decline in juvenile criminal activity. Reduced levels of teenage pregnancy and motherhood. Reduced levels of underage drinking and the use of marijuana and tobacco. Enhanced opportunity for parents to continue working. Impact of BGCMP operations and volunteers. WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS HOURS 16,953 DOLLARS $415,518 Our Clubs and the Program Services Center rely on the generous and talented volunteers from all over our community.
