OFFICIAL CALL TO 2018 MFRW FALL CONVENTION In accordance with the Bylaws of the Maryland Federation of Republican Women (MFRW), Article XII, Section 2, I hereby call the MFRW Fall Convention (and Fall Board of Directors Meeting) to be held at the Holiday Inn Solomons Conference Center and Marina in Solomons, MD (Calvert County) on November 16-17, 2018. Friday Registration opens at 1:30PM. Saturday Registration opens at 7:30AM. The theme for this year's Fall Convention is "Celebrating our Successes!" Fingers-crossed, we will have many electoral successes to celebrate. But even if we come up a little short at some of the ballot boxes, we do, indeed, have much to celebrate this year! Come join us and celebrate your successes!! All Club Presidents, MFRW Standing and Special Committee Chairs, MFRW Regional Chairs, MFRW Elected officers, and MFRW past presidents who are members of the MFRW are members of the Board of Directors. If you hold one of these positions, attendance at our Fall Convention Board of Directors meetings is required. A Club President may send a proxy to the meeting on her behalf. The proxy must be a full member in good standing of that club. All members (both full and associate) are welcome and encouraged to attend both the Board of Directors meeting and the General Session of the Convention, as well as all other convention activities. The tentative schedule for the convention includes: Friday Afternoon - Bay Club Event (a tour of historic St. Mary's - free for Bay Club Members) or a Communications Workshop from the Leadership Institute - "Surviving the Holidays - How to talk to friends, family, and strangers" Friday Evening - Welcome Reception, hosted by the MFRW Bay Club, the Southern Region, and Delegates Rey, Morgan, and Clark Saturday Day - Full Breakfast, Board of Directors Meeting, Regional Meetings, Working Lunch with workshop "Brave New World - Social Media and You", and the General Session of the Convention Saturday Evening - A Reception and Dinner honoring the Legacy and Service of Joyce Lyons Terhes (and other great MFRW members that we lost this year) Speakers include a representative from the Hogan Campaign, one of our amazing legislators giving us a preview of what to expect in the upcoming legislative session, our Pathfinder nominee Kristy Hess, Professional Communicator Dee Dee Bass Wilbons, Republican Women's Federal Forum Executive Director Kimberly Genau, and more! Workshops will feature ways to help you improve your communications skills.

Basic Registration (includes all workshops, meetings, lunch, and Friday reception) is only $50 per person! Complete registration including Basic plus Breakfast and the dinner is $125 per person. Other options available as well. (Guest pricing for Breakfast and the dinner is also available). Get your registrations in promptly all convention registration rates will increase by $20 after 11/2. Room rate is guaranteed through 10/28/18 We will be offering our "MFRW Country Store" once again!! So we need your donations, please! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the store, it's like a VIP Indoor Yard Sale! It's a great opportunity to buy gifts for the holidays as well as find items you didn't even realize you needed!! Lots of great "Republican" items will be available as well as a plethora of other unique finds! This has been an exhausting Election Cycle! Many of you have given many long days and nights to help your candidates campaign! Thank you for all that you have done to help them! But that is not all that you have accomplished this year. We have grown our number of clubs, we have participated in great charitable and humanitarian efforts, we have learned new skills, and we have made many new friends just to name a few successes! I hope you will come and join us as we celebrate our many successes across the state - electoral and otherwise!! See you soon, Diana Waterman, MFRW President
