Prohibition & Restriction on Sale Tobacco and nicotine shall not be used as ingredients in any food products. 2. Prohibition of use of carbide gas in ripening of fruits. 3. Fresh Fruits and Vegetables shall be free from rotting and free from coating of waxes, mineral oil and colors except where permitted under proper declaration. 4. Kangra tea shall be sold only after it is graded and marked in accordance with the provisions of the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1937 (1 of 1937). 5. No person shall sell powdered spices and condiments except under packaged condition.
Prohibition & Restriction on Sale Use of flesh of naturally dead animals or fowls prohibited. 2. Above should not be used in any product as an ingredient. 3. Only Iodized common salt will be sold for human consumption. 4. Admixture of ghee or butter and any substance a) Prepared in imitation of or as a substitute for ghee or butter or b) Contains any oil or fat which does not confirm to the definition of ghee. 5. Flavoured tea shall be sold or offered for sale only by those manufacturers who are registered with Tea Board. Registration number shall be mentioned on the label
Restriction relating to condition for Sale The following products are manufactured, sold, stored or exhibited for sale under BIS Certification Mark only. a. Infant milk food, infant formula and milk cereal based weaning food, processed cereal based weaning food and follow up formula. b. Condensed milk sweetened, condensed skimmed milk sweetened, milk powder, skimmed milk powder, Partly skimmed milk powder and partly skimmed sweetened condensed milk. c. Packaged drinking water. d. Mineral water 2. No person shall sell protein rich Atta and protein rich Maida except in Packed condition. 3. No person shall sell or serve food in any commercial establishment in plastic articles used in catering and cutlery unless they confirm to food grade plastics.
Restriction relating to condition for Sale All irradiated food shall be sold in pre-packed conditions only. 2. No person shall store, expose for sale or permit the sale of any insecticide in the same premises where articles of food are stored, manufactured or exposed for sale
Restriction relating to condition for Sale Selling of Oil & Fat a. Blended Edible Vegetable Oils shall not be sold in loose form. b. To be sold in sealed package weighing not more than 15 litres. c. Container should be tamper proof. d. Shall also not be sold under the common or generic name of the oil e. Shall be sold as Blended Edible Vegetable Oil f. Sell only under AGMARK certification mark. g. The fat spread shall be sold only in sealed packages under AGMARK certification mark.
Special provisions relating to sale of vegetable oil and fat. a. Any edible oil shall confirm to the standards of quality and should be packed, marked and labelled as per FSSA. b. All edible oils, except coconut oil, olive oil, imported in crude, raw or unrefined form shall be subjected to the process of refining before sale for human consumption c. No vegetable oil shall contain any harmful colouring, flavouring or any other matter deleterious to health. d. Under no event color and flavour resembling ghee can be added to oils. e. No anti-oxidant, synergist, emulsifier or any other such substance other than those permitted by these regulations to be added. f. Sale of admixtures of ghee or butter with any oil or fat is prohibited.
Special provisions relating to sale of vegetable oil and fat. 2. No solvent other than n-hexane (Food Grade) shall be used in the extraction of cocoa butter, oils and fats and edible soya flour. Maximum quantity of Hexane use should comply below requirements. a. Refined solvent extracted cocoa butter 5 ppm max. b. Refined solvent extracted oils and fats 5 ppm max. c. Solvent extracted edible soya flour 10 ppm max. No person shall sell powdered spices and condiments except under packed conditions. If any material allowed to be sold in FSS regulations it should comply to the label declaration as provided in the Regulation of Food Safety and Standards (Packaging and Labeling) regulations, 201
