COURSE OVERVIEW The Pediatric Difficult Airway 2019 Course will provide intensive training on the latest literature and technology for pediatric difficult airway management, with a focus on hands-on sessions in difficult airway management. Participants will have exposure to a collection of experts from anesthesiology, critical care medicine and otolaryngology, covering topics integral to successful pediatric difficult airway practice. The unparalleled strength of this course is the simulation exposure in a small-group setting with an average ratio of 1 to 3. Learners will have exposure to live animal models and manikins to cover a host of challenging difficult airway scenarios. This course is designated for anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), anesthesiology fellows and anesthesiology residents seeking intensive training and realistic hands-on experience with difficult pediatric airway management. GENERAL INFORMATION The conference will be held in the Leonard and Madlyn Abramson Pediatric Research Center at Children s Hospital of Philadelphia. The registration fee is $1,000 and includes continental breakfast, breaks, lunch, parking and syllabus material. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to: Perform pediatric difficult airway techniques including fiberoptic intubation and combined advanced airway techniques Describe indications for and perform emergency front-of-neck access Describe cognitive biases that commonly impact airway management ACCME ACCREDITATION STATEMENT Children s Hospital of Philadelphia is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing education for physicians. AMA CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT Children s Hospital of Philadelphia designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Page 2 of 6

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS A block of rooms has been reserved at reduced rates at The Sheraton University City, located just a few blocks from Children s Hospital. The group overnight rate is $209 single and double occupancy plus a 15.2 percent room tax. Participants are required to make their own hotel reservations by calling the hotel directly at 215-387-8000. Please mention the name of the conference when making your reservation. The special room rate will be available until Friday, March 15. After that date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY Children s Hospital of Philadelphia reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to any unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, Children s Hospital of Philadelphia will refund any registration fees, less a $40 service charge, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges or expenses to participants, including cancellation charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies. In order to process refunds for course withdrawals, cancellation must be received in writing by Monday, March 25, 2019. No refunds will be issued thereafter.
