Poet s Walk Round Rock National Assisted Living Week 2016 Our National Assisted Living Week games were immensely enjoyed by Poet Walk s residents. They participated, cheered and won certificates showing fun-filled enthusiasm. Each department at Poet s Walk hosted an event during the week-long celebration. Opening day commenced with staff competing in a race while our residents cheered us on. The executive staff hosted wheelchair races, Nursing hosted a baton race, Engagement Department hosted the long toss in which residents threw balls to see who threw the farthest, Environmental engaged the residents in a much-attended volleyball toss and the games ended with a closing ceremony by our Marketing Department. It was wonderful to see our residents thrilled during this festive week! Our Team Member Pledge: I dedicate myself to the principles of trust, respect and integrity, and I pledge to give the best of myself to the remarkable people I serve. Care Flowers... Morning Glory Morning Glory - Like the flower, they fully open in the morning, but curl up and close during the warm parts of the day. This person s environment is limited and often trapped inside a shell that is the mind, in a moment in time. The morning glory flowers signify love, affection and mortality. We must use sincerity in our voice (soft, sweet tone) and touch when communicating with this person. Always approach from the front, and always smile.
