A Guide for Patients A major innovation in the dietary management of Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD). A Nestlé Health Science Company www.vitaflousa.com www.glycosadeusa.com Medical food intended for use under medical supervision.

What is Glycosade? Vitaflo has worked with leading metabolic centers, scientists and individuals with GSD in the development of Glycosade a slow-release starch that can help keep blood sugar levels normal for longer and help prevent hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). How Glycosade works for you: A constant supply of glucose is required to keep blood sugar levels normal. Glycosade is made from a very special type of cornstarch that will be slowly digested and produce glucose for several hours. Why will you like Glycosade? Mixes well into food and drink Neutral taste, easy to flavor Available in convenient 60g dose related packets When applicable, Glycosade flows easily through a feeding tube when mixed with prescribed amount of water Easy to transport when traveling

How do you take your Glycosade? Glycosade must only be started after consulting with your healthcare professional. Glycosade can be mixed and taken in the same way as your current uncooked cornstarch (UCCS). Always consult with your doctor or dietitian before changing your dose. Introducing Glycosade into your diet: Your doctor or dietitian can provide options for mixing Glycosade with permitted liquids and food. Mix Glycosade with liquid/food at room temperature or cooler. It is important NOT to cook, heat or even warm Glycosade as it destroys the unique properties of the starch.

Directions for using my Glycosade: Glycosade taken as a drink: 1. Measure your Glycosade dose into the shaker cup provided in the starter pack or a cup with a lid. 2. Add cold water (100 to 150ml to each packet of Glycosade) or other permitted sugar free drinks of your choice. 3. Close the lid tightly and shake until Glycosade is dissolved. 4. Drink your full dose of Glycosade immediately. 200 ml 100 ml 50 ml Glycosade taken with food: 1. Add prescribed dose of Glycosade to sugar-free puddings or other permitted soft, cold foods. 2. Stir well until smooth. 3. Eat your full dose of Glycosade immediately. Remember, do NOT cook, heat or warm your Glycosade!

Glycosade via feeding tube: 1. Prepare your prescribed amount of Glycosade by adding to prescribed amount of cold water (100-150ml water to 1 packet Glycosade). Mix well. 2. Administer Glycosade immediately. 3. Make sure to flush the tube with water after feeding and as required. Mixing Suggestions Mi x It I n! Glycosade mixes well with sugar-free puddings, yogurts and soft, cold foods - check with your healthcare professional for permitted varieties. F i n d Y ou r F lavor! Mix Glycosade with water and add a few drops of sugar-free liquid water flavor enhancer Try your own flavor creation by mixing Glycosade with other permitted drinks! Visit www.glycosadeusa.com for recipes and mixing ideas!
