ABMS APPROVED GENERAL AND SUBSPECIALTY CERTIFICATES Footnotes to Table 1 ** Certificates issued for the first time late in. Certificate data was not available at the time of publication. For more information, please contact the applicable ABMS Member Board. ** ABMS Member Boards are currently implementing their ABMS Maintenance of Certification (MOC) programs which enhance the specialty board certification process. ABMS MOC expands the Board Certification process to include learning activities that help physicians continuously evaluate and refine their procedural skills, clinical judgment and service to patients. Since MOC requires ongoing professional activity, particular requirements must be completed before a physician receives an updated certification. For more information, please see Table 3 on page lxii. Certificates issued prior to 192 when ABMS subspecialty recognition procedures were established.
