The Muscle Walk event is a time for families who live with muscle disease to celebrate their journey and provide awareness and thanks to their friends and family who help them provide care and encouragement. It s a time for corporations and businesses to help give back to the 1,300+ families who suffer from muscle disease locally. It s also a time where we can join together to fight this disease with our hearts and pocket books, as we raise money for research and services for our local clients and families, including our treasured summer camp. We are proud and honored to have experienced tremendous growth in 2013 and we look forward to continue growing in 2014 with your help, of course. JOIN US! THE CAUSE Started in 1950, MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services to families and education to the public, such as: The largest non-governmental funded research program for neuromuscular disease Summer camp for kids diagnosed with muscle disease, free to those aged 6 17. An MDA funded Clinic to ensure a multi-disciplinary team is supporting our patients to get the care their need. An equipment lending program to borrow durable medical equipment and reimbursement for repairs. A flu shot program and much more!
