B L A D H S M E D I C A L With All-Around any corner of the oral cavity is accessible Every dentist and dental hygienist is well aware of the problems caused by limited accessibility to many areas of the oral cavity when different procedures are to be performed. This, for example, is a particular problem not only in minor surgery but also when perio probing, scaling, or modelling dental fillings. IMPROVED ACCESSIBILITY To improve accessibility and thus the comfort of both the operator and the patient, All-Around an ingenious handle with a series of ball-attached working parts has been developed by Professor Dan Lundgren, Göteborg, Sweden. CONTINUOUS ADJUSTABILITY The All-Around handle with its continuously adjustable, ballattached working parts also substantially increases manoeuvrability in almost inaccessible areas. MANY APPLICATIONS The working parts include different scalpel blades, flap elevators, osteotomes, perio probes, and curettes, making the instrument feasible for many different manipulations. HIGHER PRECISION AND BETTER ERGONOMICS The continuously adjustable working parts are easily and securely locked and unlocked during operation procedures, permitting precise manipulations with improved ergonomics for the operator, even in hard-to-reach areas. The instrument has therefore been highly praised for the ease of making incisions, raising flaps, removing granulation tissue, and scaling and probing in such areas. LESS CHAIR TIME, FASTER HEALING Smoother, safer, and more delicate operations in all areas of the oral cavity anteriorly, posteriorly, palatally, lingually, mesially, distally will lower chair time and speed up healing. GREATER PATIENT SATISFACTION In fact, the All-Around instrument with its unique reachability will rationalize many of the manipulations in the oral cavity that previously were uncomfortable and stressful for the patient. B L A D H S M E D I C A L All-Around for professional operations A series of ball-attached instruments, which multiply the ease and accuracy of professional operations not only within the area of minor oral surgery and depuration but also during other manipulations within the oral cavity, has been developed by Professor Dan Lundgren, Göteborg, Sweden ONE HANDLE, MULTIPLE WORKING PARTS The All-Around system comprises a straight handle with a cage for a ball, to which numerous working parts attach. The ball can be continuously rotated and easily fixed in any desired position in the cage. The position of the working part can thus easily be altered during the working procedure to optimize accessibility and ergonomics for the operator. PERIOSURGERY YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW - The history of periosurgery began with the introduction of reusable fixed knives, which often needed to be reshaped. - Later, disposable scalpel blades, to be screw-attached to straight or angulated (right and left) handles, were developed. - Now, All-Around is here. The system has only one handle to which any of the working parts, can be attached, easily repositioned, and exchanged. ALL-AROUND REACHES ANYWHERE The instrument greatly facilitates periodontal and peri-implant surgery and other soft and hard tissue surgery in regions of the oral cavity that are considered narrow or hard-to-reach areas. Those who have tried an All-Around instrument are convinced of its many advantages over traditional instruments in such situations. Work is vastly improved due to increased accessibility, not least lingually and in the posterior areas. CONTINUOUS REPOSITIONING Any incision can be made with the scalpels and any flap raised with the periosteal elevators, thanks to the ability of the All- Around to continuously reposition and relock the ball. The instrument will also make lifting the Schneiderian membrane in the sinus cavity easier. REMOVAL OF HARD AND SOFT DEPOSITS In addition, removal of hard and soft deposits on teeth and implants becomes an easy task in hard-to-reach areas with the working parts designed for depuration. This means that the instrument also supplements regular hand instruments in the depuration of both teeth and implants. Satisfied opinion leaders DR CHRISTOPH HAMMERLE PROFESSOR IN PROSTHODONTICS, UNIVERSITY OF ZURICH, SWITZERLAND: The All-Around instrument with the ball-attached working parts makes possible optimal incisions and flap elevations, even in hard-to-reach areas. DR NIKLAUS LANG PROFESSOR IN PERIODONTOLOGY AND PROSTHODONTICS, UNIVERSITY OF BERNE, SWITZERLAND: Decreased chair time thanks to unrivalled precision of incision placement, not least in lingual and proximal areas. SID 4

The All-Around instrument in action No other instrument can beat the accessibility of All-Around AN INSTRUMENT FOR THE FUTURE The dental community has responded positively to the All-Around concept where it has been presented and been enthusiastic about the way the working parts simplify manipulations in the critical hard-to-reach areas. The working environment for both the dental team and the patient is improved due to the ergonomic styling of the system. The learning curve for the method is steep. The All-Around scalpel 69 for best possible incision line. The All-Around elevator for optimal flap raising. The All-Around punches also work in hard-to-reach areas. The All-Around curettes and hooks are non-abrasive on implant surfaces. DR ULF LEKHOLM PROFESSOR IN ORAL IMPLANT SURGERY, GÖTEBORG UNIVERSITY, GÖTEBORG, SWEDEN: The All-Around scalpels and elevators facilitate soft tissue handling at both implants and teeth in narrow areas. DR CHRISTER SLOTTE SPECIALIST IN PERIODONTOLOGY, POSTGRADUATE DENTAL CENTER, JÖNKÖPING, SWEDEN: The ability to continuously lock and unlock the ballattached working parts while operating admits unique accessibility to any surgical site. DR HARALD RYLANDER SPECIALIST IN PERIODONTOLOGY, GÖTEBORG UNIVERSITY, GÖTEBORG, SWEDEN: The All-Around scalpels and elevators have added a new dimension to all my periosurgery incisions and flap elevations. DR MASSIMO SIMION PROFESSOR IN ORAL IMPLANT SURGERY, UNIVERSITY OF MILAN, ITALY: The ball-attached working parts permit more precise manipulations and better ergonomics when working in less accessible sites. B L A D H S M E D I C A L Instrument for different types of measures The All-Around instrument is a ball-jointed tool comprising a removable handle and different ball-attached working parts. 5 All-Around HANDLE (Art no: 1184) 2 fits all All-Around instruments has a safe, ergonomic grip makes instrument changes effortless fixes an instrument firmly at any angle The handle is made of a tube (1) encasing a piston (2). The front end of the piston has a ring-shaped edge (3) that locks onto the plastic ball (4) of the instrument. The instrument is locked in the desired position when the flat knob (5) at the rear end of the piston is tightened. The ball inserts into the ball cage at the front of the tube through a side opening (6) with the piston in a rear position. A slit connects the side hole with the front opening of the tube (7). 3 4 6 7 1 All-Around BALL-ATTACHED SCALPEL BLADE NO. 15 Art no: 1062 adjusts in all directions replaces 3 standard scalpels in periosurgery reaches any corner of the oral cavity Blade15 is a single-edged scalpel. The versatile positioning of the scalpel blade allows 1 blade to do the job of 3 different scalpels (straight and right or left angulated) used in periosurgery. All-Around BALL-ATTACHED MINISCALPEL BLADE NO. 15c Art no: 1193 adjusts in all directions fits well in narrow areas corrects the soft tissues at teeth and implants Blade 15c is more slender and somewhat shorter than blade no. 15. It fits well in narrow areas. SID 6

All-Around BALL-ATTACHED MINISCALPEL BLADE NO. 69 Art no: 1194 for soft tissue adjustments at teeth and implants for exposing submerged implants and teeth Blade 69 is a double-edged miniblade, somewhat shorter than blades 15 and 15c. The double edge makes the scalpel especially suitable in perioplastic surgery, for fibrotomy and for harvesting soft tissue grafts. All-Around BALL-ATTACHED SOFT TISSUE PUNCHES 4.1 AND 5.2 Art no: 1199 (4.1) and 1200 (5.2) for exposing submerged implants or teeth for harvesting soft tissue grafts The punches are sharp tubes shaped to fit regular and wide implant platforms. The versatile positioning of the punch makes access of any implant site and exposure of submerged implants easy even in the hard-to-reach, posterior areas of the oral cavity. The punches are also useful in periosurgery, for adjusting flap margins and soft tissues at teeth and implants. All-Around BALL-ATTACHED CURETTES, STAINLESS STEEL Art no: 1191 (6 mm) and 1192 (9 mm) are especially suitable in posterior areas are perfect for scaling in difficult-to-reach areas The curettes come in two lengths 6 and 9 mm.
