A Letter From Your Residence Manager Welcome Home to London Hall! My name is Jan and I will be your Residence Manager for the 2017-2018 academic year. I m so excited to welcome you to your new home this year at Western University! My role as a Residence Manager is to support student life within the building. This includes wellness concerns, community issues, behavior management, social engagement, academic success, and leadership opportunities. None of this would be possible without the help of the dedicated student leaders living within Essex Hall: the Community Leaders and Residents Council, all are highly motivated individuals that work to provide you support, mentorship, social programming, and access to campus resources throughout your year at London Hall. I look forward to meeting you all in September and encourage you to stop by my office to say hello. Throughout the year you will see me attending building events, stopping by council programs, and during my office hours, feel free to say hello, introduce yourself, and tell me how your year is going! Can t wait till move-in day! All the best Jan Boomhouwer jboomhou@housing.uwo.ca

And if you couldn t already tell from the little bit you already know about me, I am super passionate about individuals wellness and all things social justice related. Other than that, I love movie nights or catching up on whatever the latest TV show is, having a good laugh with friends, making my way to the gym (when I actually get around to it- calling all new gym buddies!), or getting myself out to the barn for a visit with my horse friends and a ride. Anyways, I look forward to meeting and getting to know you! If you have any ideas or suggestions for programming, or just want someone to chat to, don t hesitate to contact me!

In my free time, I can usually be found on campus, at the gym, or in my room cooking and baking. I love learning and immersing myself in other cultures, and enjoy learning new languages. I m super excited for the year to come and can t wait to meet as many people as possible. If you have any questions about Council and the endless leadership opportunities available, feel free to shoot me an email or drop by room during your spare time. Also don t be shy to reach out if you need a gym buddy, are feeling brave enough to eat my creations and want some free food, or just need someone to talk to.
