Each meal must be based upon the Eatwell Guide (except for the picnic lunch for the toddlers): A picnic lunch for four toddlers (1 2 years old). A packed lunch for a 10-year-old child. A birthday tea party for six children aged 5 years. An evening meal for a teenager who has played a hockey match. A breakfast for a teenage girl. A main evening meal for an adult who has a physically active job. A main meal for a single adult with limited cooking facilities (a hob and grill). A lunch for a family of two adults and two school-aged children who have a limited income. A main meal for two elderly adults. (5 marks each)

(5 marks) b) Plan a balanced breakfast that would be suitable for teenagers to eat on a busy weekday when they don t have much time, and a breakfast that they could eat at the weekend when they have more time. (5 marks)

8 1.2.2 Energy / p57 2. Joe is 20 years old and works in an office, using a computer all day. He travels to work on the bus and likes to socialise with friends after work and go to local fast food restaurants for a meal with them 3 4 times a week. On other days after work, Joe goes home, eats a ready meal, drinks several sweetened fizzy drinks and watches TV for several hours in the evening. Joe eats very little fresh fruit or vegetables. He often eats potato crisps or chocolate bars in between meals. a) If Joe continues to follow this lifestyle for several years, consider what might be the consequences for his long-term health. (6 marks) b) Explain, in detail, the changes you think Joe could make to his lifestyle to benefit his long-term health. (10 marks) 1.2.4 Diet, nutrition and health / p77 1.
