I will uphold all duties as part of my role, as well as my commitment to following Jesus and His Word. I will work to serve Him, my fellow officers, and the larger community as a whole. Truth in Business Officer Information (Revised Spring 2015) General Officer Responsibilities Attend officer meetings Attend advisory board meetings Attend and promote Truth in Business (TiB) events Attend as many weekly meetings as possible Support organization and members in prayer Commit to fulfilling responsibilities for full term elected Fundraise on behalf of TiB Take on other responsibilities as needed

President The president leads the group and represents Truth in Business (TiB) to the general Carlson community, promoting and attending all of TiB s events. S/he is responsible for leading the officer team, leading weekly meetings, and generally directing the TiB group. Strong interpersonal communication skills Presentation skills Self-motivation Ability to manage a team Responsible/can meet deadlines Determine the overall vision of the organization; fulfill the group s mission to Unite, Equip, and Send Lead the Monday meetings Create the weekly meeting slides and group activities Develop the yearly schedule Support and lead the entire officer team, helping where needed Schedule Advisory board meetings Schedule and lead TiB officer meetings at least once a month Serve as the organization s main contact for campus events Review the budget and financial situation with Treasurer Make a point to meet all TiB members Meet speakers before TiB meetings with VP of External Relations Attend all TiB events Register Truth in Business annually with Carlson and SUA Review constitution as needed Attend President meetings held by Carlson school

VP of External Relations The VP of External Relations is responsible for networking Truth in Business (TiB) into the business community. S/he draws speakers for Monday meetings and does pre- and post-contact for our business professional speakers. Strong interpersonal communication skills Self-motivation Organizational skills Punctuality Responsibility Ability to meet deadlines Build on TiB s network of local business professionals Schedule weekly speakers and serve as contact point Meet with speaker prior to speaking date to answer questions and pray over message Coordinate speakers day of speaking, including Meet speaker when s/he arrives Provide speaker with set-up assistance Validate parking ticket Meet with business leaders and develop professional relations Send thank you note and information supporting TiB Maintain TiB LinkedIn page Update TiB s CRM system, Insightly, with new information about TiB s contacts

VP of Finance The VP of Finance is in charge of TiB s finances and purchasing of food. Strong interpersonal communication skills Responsibility Organization Self-motivation Numbers-oriented Manage TiB s bank account Manage TiB s PayPal account Organize snacks for weekly meetings Head up any fundraising efforts Send thank-you letters to donations received Keep track of TiB s spending Be in charge of keeping all receipts File annual form with the IRS to maintain tax-exempt status

VP of Community Fellowship The VP of Community Fellowship is responsible for Truth in Business (TiB) events and creating a feeling of belonging and fellowship among new and existing members. Enjoy meeting new people Event planning and leadership skills Creative flair Positivity Creating a welcoming environment for members Create and maintain relationships with new members Lead the meet an officer program Plan social and service events Lectures and forums Annual Christmas party Annual spring banquet Coordinate with other student organizations and groups for events Find ways for members to play an active role in TiB Work closely with the Director of External Events

Director of Marketing The Director of Marketing is responsible for promoting Truth in Business (TiB) to the Carlson school and the greater U of M community. Creative flair Ability to meet deadlines Enjoy meeting new people Marketing experience is helpful, but not required Create fliers and other promotional materials; hang them around Carlson Create, order, and distribute annual TiB t-shirt Organize any promotional events, such as BA 3000 classes Attend/coordinate the student org fairs Lead recruiting of new members, including at the dorms Promote TiB brand Create and send out newsletter at end of each semester Responsible for TiB sign information and display Maintain TiB Facebook, website, and Twitter

Director of Administration The Director of Administration is responsible for developing Truth in Business (TiB) networks. S/he maintains contact with current students, alumni, and TiB s advisors. Strong business communication skills Organizational skills Punctuality Ability to meet deadlines Attention to detail Send out weekly e-mails to inform/remind members where and when the meetings are Include speaker or topic if known Include upcoming TiB events (coordinate with Director of Community Fellowship) Provide sign-in sheets for weekly meetings Submit TiB announcement for BSB Weekly Make agenda for officer meetings and advisory board meetings Update contact list with those who attend weekly meetings E-mail new meeting attendees to Director of Community Fellowship Organize and maintain alumni and advisor list using Insightly CRM Send email during summer to current TiB students asking if they want to stay involved Coordinate continued contact with outgoing seniors

Director of Web Development Description This officer maintains the TiB website. The majority of the work is done over the summer before the school year starts to update the page with new officer bios, etc. In addition, the website requires maintenance throughout the year with updates regarding upcoming events, speakers, and more. Tech savvy Organized Responsible Self-motivated Quick-learner Independent Provide the following updates to the website at the indicated frequencies: o Each semester: ensure officer bios on the Officers page, as well as the meeting time and location on the Contact page are up to date o Each month: update Speakers page with information on upcoming speakers and discussion dates o Each week: update Recent Speakers blog page with a blurb about the speaker that week. Also post any weekly news/announcements to the News + Events page o As needed: post news, event info, and opportunities to the News + Events page Provide creative vision for TiB s website Ensure the website is serving the needs of those who use it: TiB members, TiB alumni, and general visitors.

Director of Alumni Relations Please note that this officer works very closely with the VP of External Relations as the two positions have similar responsibilities. The Director of Alumni Relations is an extended position to the VP of External Relations. While the VP of External Relations is responsible for arranging speakers and monitoring/marketing social media networks, the Alumni Relations Officer is primarily responsible for keeping up with TiB contacts and alumni on a consistent basis, and other external relations as requested. Communication skills (telephone, email, social media, and personal) Enjoys meeting new people Organized Responsible Self-motivated Operational Build on TiB s network of business professionals Email Phone calls Meet and/or communicate with alumni/tib contacts to maintain positive relations Discuss sponsorship/donations Discuss mentorship status Discuss potential opportunities for TiB members through the alumni/contacts position Help with maintenance of Insightly CRM system Report monthly to president and other board members current status with TiB contacts/alumni, noting areas of success and areas that need improvement Maintain positive relations with fellow student organizations within Carlson and the University Potentially collaborating events, depending on opportunities Other jobs upon request

Director of External Events Please note that this officer works very closely with the VP of Community Fellowship as the two positions have similar responsibilities. The Director of External Events is an extended position to the VP of Community Development. While the VP of Community Fellowship is responsible for ensuring a sense of community among TiB members through the planning of TiB member events, the Director of External Events is primarily responsible for organizing TiB s participation in external events. Organized Good communicator Responsible Self-motivated Independent Handle all external event requests received through the TiB email. Develop/maintain a vetting process to determine whether TiB should advertise this event to our members and organize rides to get there. Coordinate transportation of TiB members to external events. Communicate with external event planners regarding TiB s participation in the event. Provide information to be announced at weekly TiB meetings. Provide weekly announcements and event information for Web Developer to update the website. Be the central contact for all externally organized events. Other jobs upon request
