NDVDUAL GUDON BEARER PROCEDURES SUPPORT MATERALS AND GUDANCE (continued) Order Guidon The guidon berer holds the guidon in verticl position nd keeps the ferrule on the ground beside the right foot. The guidon berer holds the stff with the right hnd in the "V" formed by the thumb nd the fingers extended nd joined. The right hnd nd rm behind the stff with the rm bent nturlly nd the stff resting ginst the hollow of the shoulder. Crry Guidon The guidon berer grsps the stff with the left hnd while t the sme time loosening the grip of the right hnd on the stff. The guidon is rised verticlly with the left hnd, letting the stff slide upwrd through the right hnd until the ferrule is pproximtely 6 inches from the ground. The guidon berer then regrsps the stff with the right hnd nd cuts the left hnd wy smrtly to the left side. Execute Crry Guidon on ll preprtory commnds except Prde Rest, Flight Attention, Present Arms, Extend nd Close Mrch (Hlted), Count Off nd Close Rnks. Prde Rest Execute by sliding the hnd up the stff while inclining the stff of the guidon forwrd t rm's length with the hnd t wist level. Present Arms On the preprtory commnd, smrtly rise the guidon verticlly until the right rm is fully extended. At the sme time, bring the left hnd smrtly cross the chest to guide the stff. On the commnd of execution, the guidon berer lowers the guidon stright to the front with the right rm extended nd the stff resting in the pit of the rm, cutting the left hnd wy smrtly to the left side. Order Arms The guidon berer executes order guidon fter bringing the guidon to the crry position, the stff is permitted to slide through the right hnd. The stff is stedied with the left hnd until the guidon is in the position of order guidon nd the left hnd is then cut smrtly wy to the left side. ndividul Slute The guidon berer executes the slute with the left hnd in two-count movement. On first count, the left rm is moved horizontlly cross the body with forerm nd wrist stright nd fingers nd thumb extended nd joined with the plm down. The first joint of the forefinger touches the stff. On the second count, the left hnd is cut smrtly wy to the side. The slute t crry guidon is executed in the sme mnner except the ferrule is pproximtely 6 inches from the ground.
