Program Midwest Heart Foundation and the Mayo Clinic are proud to present this conference on Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), a leading cause of death in the US. Each year more than 300,000 people die of SCA. This educational activity is intended to provide the attendee with the knowledge to identify, treat, or refer patients for treatment for SCA. Topics that will be covered in this conference include atrial fibrillation, genetic predisposition of SCA, causes of SCA such as Long QT Syndrome and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), screening for Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD), and therapies available to treat SCA and prevent sudden cardiac death. The attendee will hear the lessons learned from Midwest Heart Foundation s Young Hearts for Life screening program as well as what the experts think about providing pre-participation screening programs for young adults.
