Ceoc11 12/15/10 1:40 PM Page 3 3 We are announcing the 7 th Central European Oncology Congress CEOC-2011 as our first Best of ASCO for the Central and Eastern European region, at the Hotel Kvarner, Opatija, Croatia on June 12-15, 2011. This regional, multinational meeting, traditionally featuring updates on cancer therapy will combine Best of ASCO presentations, tumor boards, a forum for young oncologists, round table on translational research, and satellite symposia, to attract oncologists, other health professionals involved in cancer care and trainees. Poster presentations of clinical research results are invited. Brief oral presentations by selected poster presenters will be held and discussed with a panel of members of the Scientific Advisory Committee. Please mark your calendars, save the date for CEOC-2011, and don t forget to register early for this first Best of ASCO in Croatia! The program will feature nine talks presenting highlights from ASCO for breast, lung, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal cancers, as well as the ASCO Plenary Session and New Therapies. We are delighted that ASCO has awarded us Best of ASCO sponsored status, enabling us to present in depth reviews of the latest data presented in the previous week in Chicago. Abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific advisory committee, and presenters of selected abstracts will be asked to give a brief verbal presentation of their results (2-3 minutes) during a poster discussion session at the congress. Three outstanding posters will be announced at the end of the meeting, with prizes of $300 each to be awarded to the presenter. Only presenters under the age of 40 will be eligible for the poster awards. Poster Instructions Abstracts for posters should be printed in standard format, single spaced, on one side of a sheet of paper. Separate lines should be used for the Title, Authors (full first name, middle initial, and last name), Institutional Affiliation, Address, and Body of Abstract. The Body of the abstract should be limited to 200 words. Submission of Poster Abstracts to morana.simat@kzt.hr Deadline for Poster Abstracts - April 29, 2011 The poster session will be held at the Kvarner Hotel. Poster display starts on June 13, 2011 at 8.00 am and ends (dismantling) on June 15, 2011 after 12.00 am. If combining video films with PowerPoint, please make sure to check it in the Congress hall during a coffee or lunch break prior to your session, at least 30 minutes before the
