FUNDRAISING TOOL KIT The heart of the Race for the Cure is you, our participants- and we need your help to make the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer! Go above and beyond registering for the Race and fundraise to find the cures for this disease. We created the Fundraising Kit to help individuals and teams succeed in fundraising for the Arkansas Race for the Cure. It s full of fundraising ideas, prizes, tips and tools to get you on your way! We ve also included fundraising thermometers to display in your office, church, school etc. to track and encourage fundraising success! 75% of the money raised in the Race for the Cure goes back into Arkansas communities to fund breast cancer education, research and treatment grants. The remaining 25% goes directly to national research grants related to the treatment and cures of breast cancer; and, not one cent goes to overhead! Remember, anyone can donate to a Race participant or team by visiting komenarkansas.org and clicking donate under the Race for the Cure tab. There, you can search for a participant or team and make a direct donation online. The donation will automatically show up in your Participant Center so you can keep track of your online donations and thank your donors. Have any questions? Call the Komen office at (501) 202-4399. Fundraising for the Arkansas Race for the Cure can be fun and easy! NOW LET S GET STARTED!

POWER OF 10 FUNDRAISING Register for this year s Race and invite 10 friends to make a donation of $10 or more. If each Race participant raises $100, Komen Arkansas could collect more than $1 MILLION DOLLARS to fund local breast cancer programs and research in Arkansas! You have a chance to receive a cool t-shirt, win fun prizes, and, top fundraisers (our Hot Pink Heroes) receive preferred treatment on Race Day in addition to prizes! Fundraising includes donations made or collected by you online or in-person (does not include registration fees). When you register as a team member or an individual, a fundraising webpage will automatically be created for you. While participation is optional, we would love for you to personalize your page. Individuals who raise money and are on a team will have their fundraising money count towards their personal fundraising goal as well as their team s fundraising goal. What a deal! Each individual who raises over $250 will have the option to participate in the Summit Marketing prize program (details below)! Raise $100 and receive a newly designed fundraising T-shirt featuring this year s theme: Move. Be Moved. We are partnering with Summit Marketing to offer an incentive program for individual fundraisers. Depending on how much money you raise, you will have the option to choose from great prizes such as: See the fundraising levels and prizes on http://komen.summitmg.com/komen/link.asp?chapter=lar Fundraising remains open until November 7, 2014. After that date, you will receive a voucher outlining how to claim your prize. ***You may claim a prize from any prize level equal to or less than your current prize level. Only one prize per participant will be awarded.*** Individual Awards: In addition to the prizes available from Summit Marketing, the top 4 individual Fundraisers will choose from the following, in order of the Fundraising amount raised: One American Airlines ticket to anywhere in the contiguous U.S. $1000 Kroger Gift Card Jewelry from Stanley Jewelers Gemologist valued at $2500 Team Awards: Team prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams in each team category: OUR 2014 FUNDRAISING GOAL IS $350,000!

TEN FUNDRAISING IDEAS Host a Pink Tailgate Party seeking donations from attendees Weekly contest for company teams- the lowest fundraiser has to sport something silly on his/her desk for the following week with a jar for donations Show your support by wearing pink and donating money to wear jeans on Friday If your office/school team raises a goal amount of money, boss/principal agrees to wear pink wig or dress in all pink one day Weekly contest for work/company/school teams- the highest fundraiser each week gets a reserved parking spot Set a pink jar at your desk, in your kitchen, or at your place of business seeking spare change. Host an In-office mini-golf game where participants must pay to play and watch Organize a Pink bike-a-thon and collect pledges for miles/laps ridden Host a Pink bake sale at your place of work or in your community Have a sporting event where all participants wear pink and all proceeds/ portion of proceeds are donated to Komen Arkansas

Use this form to collect and keep up with your race donations. Donations can be mailed to Susan G. Komen Arkansas Affiliate, 904 Autumn Road, Suite 500, Little Rock, AR 72211.

FUNDRAISING WITH FACEBOOK! Did You Know: Participants have raised the most donations using Get the Word Out, Stream Stories, and Scheduled Newsfeed features of the Boundless Fundraising application! A new Race App is setup free to you every year! All fundraising from the Race App goes to your current Race for the Cure event! Guidelines: The following is a list of guidelines to follow: You must be a registered Facebook user to install the race fundraising badge. You must be registered for the Race for the Cure to receive the link to install the Facebook App for the current Race. If you fundraised using the Race App last year, you will need to uninstall it before installing the new version! This is the most common error participants have, but error messaging is provided with steps to uninstall before installing. Install the Race Application: Allow the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure application to access your Facebook information to update your fundraising progress and make sure your donations show up on your personal and team pages.

Get the Word Out using your Facebook Fundraising Dashboard: Once your Susan G. Komen for the Cure fundraising app is installed, you can Donate to your Profile Picture, Get the Word Out to your Friends, and review your progress with the Progress Indicator via the fundraising dashboard. You can get to this dashboard by going to your Facebook Account Settings > Apps and click on the Susan G. Komen for the Cure App to review your dashboard. Your progress meter will not show up on your page, but you can use the Get the Word Out feature to tell friends how you are doing and ask for support. You can also Share Your Story with Friends and schedule Newsfeeds to remind your friends to help you meet your fundraising goals.

ACCESS YOUR PARTICIPANT CENTER After you register for the Race for the Cure, utilize your Participant Center to track fundraising, send emails to Team members, ask for donations, etc! 1.
