8. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: healthe Chlorhexidine 1% Hand Rub with 70% Alcohol Moderately irritating to mucous membranes. May cause nausea and vomiting. Aspiration may cause lung damage. May cause irritation and reddening to the skin. Vapour may irritate the eyes. Liquid or mist may irritate or damage the eyes. Long term exposure by swallowing or repeated inhalation may cause degenerative changes in the liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and heart muscle. 9. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION/PROPERTIES Appearance Clear pink liquid with pleasant fragrance ph 7.0-8.0 Specific gravity 0.82-0.90 10. HEALTH HAZARD/ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS Swallowed: Eye: Skin: Nausea and vomiting. The material may produce irritation to the eye causing pronounced inflammation.
