2016-2018 Strategic Direction At The Kids Cancer Project our vision is to find a cure for kids cancer

Our commitment Through the power of science, The Kids Cancer Project is at the forefront fighting for kids with cancer through research. With community support we collaborate with the bravest scientists to fund the boldest research and every day we are getting closer to defeating this indiscriminate disease. The Kids Cancer Project is proud to be the conduit connecting kids with cancer and their families to better treatments and quality of life by supporting world-class research. We are inspired by children with cancer and their families and have adopted a patient - parent centric approach to all that we do. Our research priorities reflect our commitment to all children with cancer to achieve one hundred per cent survival while minimising the harmful impact of treatments. We believe in collaboration and partner with families, government, clinicians, researchers and the community to fund innovative world-class research to bring real outcomes for children diagnosed with cancer. We respect the expectations of those who generously support our vision and are committed to using donated funds wisely while expanding our research investment to help kids sooner. Page 2

It s only by working together Some people talk about making a difference and we re proud to say our founder Col Reynolds and supporters actually do. Since starting out in 1993 The Kids Cancer Project has committed more than $27 allocated to scientists and research projects across Australia. We are extremely proud of our fundraisers and donors shared commitment to fund kids cancer research. We are in awe of the researchers and clinicians who never give up and inspired every day by children and their families fighting this disease. We believe research has the answers A child s prognosis can only be improved through research and we fund the world s best scientific research to give kids with cancer a fighting chance. Thanks to generous community support, we are enabling new discoveries, supporting institutions treating children on clinical trials and funding the training of the next generation of aspiring paediatric oncology clinicians and researchers. We will continue to identify needs, selects scientists and research projects and fund more childhood cancer research than ever before. Our strategy $27 million allocated to scientists and research projects across Australia Guided by our values we will actively partner with a broad range of stakeholders. We will collaborate with like-minded organisations and it will be apparent we are Australia s leading provider of funding for childhood cancer research across the best institutions in Australia. We will actively grow our partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders that allows us to achieve sustainability and encourages innovation. We will be prepared for challenges and build on our record of excellence in childhood cancer research but doing it more effectively, with greater impact and a stronger voice. We will grow this tribe of supporters and fight together, alongside children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Page 3

Strategic s 1 We will speak up for kids with cancer The Kids Cancer Project is the clear voice, speaking on behalf of children, taking action and championing change for the better, funding research and influencing decisions that make a real difference.
