Veronica K. Piziak, MD, PhD Professor of Medicine Texas A&M University Medical School Director of Diabetes Section Scott & White Director of Endocrinology Fellowship Scott & White Dr. Piziak received her undergraduate degrees and her PhD from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her medical degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Akron General Medical Center in Akron and her fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Cincinnati both located in Ohio. Dr. Piziak is presently the Chief of Endocrinology and Director of the Lipid Clinic at Scott and White in Temple, Texas. She also has an appointment in the graduate faculty of Nutrition and the School of Rural Public Health of the Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Piziak is a fellow in the American College of Physicians. Dr. Piziak is the author of many articles in such publications as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Diabetes Care and the Annals of Internal Medicine.

Laura E. Ryan, MD Director, Special Programming Center for Women s Health Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Ohio State University Medical Center Columbus, Ohio Dr. Ryan received her undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Ryan is board certified in Internal Medicine and completed certifications in Nuclear Medicine, Thyroid Ultrasound Accreditation, Thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy Accreditation, Bone Density Measurement Certification, and Insulin Pump and Sensor Certification. She has been involved in numerous publications, presentations, and lectures. She is the Chairman of the Metabolic Bone Disease Update CME program and currently on the Housestaff Education Committee. Dr. Ryan is the recipient of one of seven 2002 Endocrine Fellows Foundation research grants for a project entitled The Effects of Phytoestrogens on Intestinal Calcium Absorption.

Jennifer A. Sipos, MD Associate Professor Division of Endocrinology The Ohio State University Columbus, Ohio Dr. Sipos received her undergraduate degree and her medical degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She completed an internship and residency at Baptist Medical Center with Wake Forest University followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Sipos is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She is certified in Thyroid Ultrasound and Bone Densitometry and is a member of the American Thyroid Association and the Endocrine Society. Dr. Sipos has been the recipient of several honors and awards including the Excellence in Teaching Medical Students Award from the University of Florida. She has been involved in numerous lectures and publications as well as volunteering her time on medical mission trips to South America and Mexico. Her clinical interest includes thyroid cancer, general thyroid disorders and cervical ultrasonography and research interests are with thyroid cancer and thyroid physiology.
