FACTS The American Medical Association stated that stress was the cause of 80 to 85 percent of all human illness and disease. Every week, 95 million Americans suffer some kind of stress related symptom for which they take medication. American businesses lose an estimated $200-$300 billion dollars per year to stress related productivity loss and other cost.

FACTS The American Institute of Stress in Yonkers, New York, estimates that 90 percent of all visits to doctors are for stress-related disorders. Stress speeds up your entire system and produces conditions in younger people that are more commonly associated with growing old. Studies show that stress can reduce the power of our immune systems by almost 50%.

FACTS Stress increases heart rate and blood pressure. It changes the inner lining of our blood vessels, making our blood more likely to clot. Stress may change the way cholesterol is handled by our blood vessels and, in doing so, may increase plaque formation.

Warnings Central Nervous System Anxiety, depression, and fatigue Cardiovascular System Impaired heart function; can cause angina Constriction of the peripheral blood vessels Raised blood pressure Digestive System Stomach upsets, even ulcers Diarrhea Gastritis Peptic ulcers Irritable Bowel Syndrome Colitis Canker sores in the mouth

Warnings Musculoskeletal System Tension in skeletal muscles and joints Backache and muscular aches and pains Predisposition to arthritis Degenerative diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis Immune System Weakened defenses, with lowered resistance to infections Viral illnesses (often due to a depleted immune defense system) Allergies Malignant cell changes; cancer Endocrine System Menstrual disorders Thyroid disorders (underactive, overactive, thyroiditis) Adrenal hypofunction

Warnings Reproductive System Infertility Premature ejaculation Impotence Skin Eczema Psoriasis Rashes Respiratory System Asthma General Tissue degeneration Acceleration of aging process

FACTS Most people live with a medium to high stress level. Most people believe that this level is the baseline for normal stress levels. American workers have continued to increase work hours, loads and days. With this increase comes an increase in dis-stress levels. Well-being may be put at risk when harmful stress is allowed to continue.

Energy is the basic currency for accomplishment and not time. In the absence of energy we will not achieve anything irrespective of the time deployed. We all know it but we take energy for granted and continue running after time. Article Source: http://ezinearticles.com/502043

If we are struggling then we need to check out our ENERGY FLOW rather than time. Our accomplishments primarily depend on our energy efficiency rather than time efficiency. Potharaju Ravindra

Both energy and time have their own roles to play in our lives. Our issue is with the unfair treatment we all give to our personal energy as compared to time. Energy is the basic currency for all accomplishment. Examples: A 10 K race Cleaning house Conducting employee evaluations

Take an Energy Audit How much energy do you have available to you? Created by Tony Shwartz / Answer "true" or "false" 1. I don't regularly get 7 to 8 hours of sleep and I often wake up feeling tired. 2. I frequently skip breakfast or I settle for something that isn't particularly healthy. 3. I don't work out enough, meaning cardiovascular training at least 3 times a week and strength training at least once a week. 4. I don't take regular breaks during the day to renew and recharge, and I often eat lunch at my desk. 5. I frequently find myself feeling irritable, impatient or anxious at work, especially when demand is high.

6. I don't have enough time for my friends and family, and when I'm with them, I'm rarely "with them." 7. I take too little time for the activities that I most deeply enjoy. 8. I rarely stop to express my appreciation to others, or to savor and celebrate my accomplishments and blessings. 9. I have difficulty focusing on one thing at a time and I'm easily distracted during my day, especially by e-mail or phone. 10. I spend much of my time reacting to immediate demands, rather than focusing on activities with longterm value and higher leverage.

11. I don't take enough time for reflection, strategizing and thinking creatively. 12. I work in the evenings and/or the weekends and I rarely take a vacation free of work. 13. There are significant gaps between what I say is important in my life and how I actually live. 14. My decisions at work are more often influenced by external demands than by a strong, clear sense of my own purpose. 15. I don't invest enough time or energy in making a positive difference to others or in the world.

Time Where does it go?

60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, 168 hours in a week. Time cannot be saved or stored. It is not how much we have, but rather the way we use it. The bottom line is how well we use it.

Time management is more than just managing our time; it is managing ourselves in relation to time. It is setting priorities and taking charge of your situation and time utilization. It means changing those habits or activities that cause us to waste time. It is being willing to experiment with different methods and ideas to enable you to find the best way to make maximum use of time.
