What is IeDEA-Southern Africa International epidemiologic databases to evaluate AIDS Regional collaboration of HIV cohorts that identifies and pursues research relevant to the region that can t be addressed in a single cohort Data centres - University of Cape Town, South Africa - University of Bern, Switzerland Together with 6 other regions contribute to the global IeDEA collaboration (www.iedea.org)

Global IeDEA collaboration IeDEAfunded by NIAID since 2006 to establish regional data centers in order to: collect and harmonize data and createan international consortium to address unique and evolving research questions in HIV/AIDS clinical care and epidemiology that are currently unanswerable by single cohorts. establish and implement methodology to effectively pool the high quality data collected during clinical care.

Specific Aims for IeDEA Southern Africa 1. To collate and analyse data related to the delivery of ART in children and adults, with a focus on long-term program effectiveness and outcomes. 2. To describe the long-term and temporal trends in regimen durability and tolerability and examine ART monitoring strategies. 3. To describe important co-morbidities and co-infections of HIV infection, with a focus on tuberculosis and cancer. 4. To explore the interface between ART and pregnancy, focusing on pregnant women on ART and cohorts of exposed infants.

With many thanks to Patients, caregivers, staff and site investigators from all IeDEA-SA sites. NIAID, NICHD and NCI
