Get ready for the ultimate beauty celebration Pampering GIRLS SUPPORTING GIRLS PAMPER PARTIES Host Guidebook 2017 - PAMPER PARTY - Enable a better journey through Breast Cancer

Pamper yourself and the special ladies in your life. Thank you for registering to host a pamper party! Imagine you have just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The world as you know it has just been turned upside down and the struggle to live is compounded by the struggle to survive. One in eight women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2017, which means that 17,730 women will be diagnosed nationally. Any one of them could be could be your mother, sister, daughter, gran or best friend. The great news is that as treatment has improved nearly 90% of individuals diagnosed with Breast Cancer will survive for five years or longer. At The Living Centre, the focus of all of our programs and activities is on wellness rather than illness and our comprehensive program of services includes many which are unique and not available elsewhere. The Living Centre is truly a sanctuary for patients providing a safe, nurturing, non-clinical environment where we have qualified and trained Breast Care Nurses on staff to provide professional counselling and advice on coping strategies.

Here s how your fundraising can help: Looking after the physical and emotional and wellbeing of our clients is how we enable a better journey through breast cancer. All our support services at the Think Pink Living Centre are provided to clients totally free of charge. $50 $80 $150 Helps pays for wellbeing classes: Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates and Mindfulness Pays for a relaxing massage Can cover the cost of a new wig $280 Can help provide accommodation for women who need to travel to Melbourne for treatment $400 Pays for a Day of Indulgence where women are brought together for beauty tips, relaxation treatments, support and fun. $1000 Will go towards the running costs of The Think Pink Living Centre

THINK PINK CLIENT STORY Katy s Courageous Story Back in 2015 I was in the fittest state of my life and training to get into the Defence force. I woke up one morning feeling nauseous. I visited my GP and told her I was hoping she was going to tell me I was pregnant. She told me there was a bug going around and sent me home. Another day later and I noticed in the shower a golf ball sized lump had appeared nearly over night on my left breast so I went back down to the GP who immediately referred me for an urgent mammogram. Given my age I was too young for a local mammogram so I had to travel over 300km s for a mammogram the earliest appointment was 10 days later. It was soon confirmed that it was a cancerous tumour in my breast. I was scheduled for a scan but still had a feeling I might be pregnant. I took a test the night before my scan and low and behold I WAS pregnant. The scan never eventuated due to this and I was sent to Peter Mac to have my lumpectomy. Pathology returned that the tumour was aggressive and TNBC and as a result baby and I both endured 15 rounds of chemo. Six months down the track a very healthy baby Ryan was born after being very closely monitored. When Ryan was about 3 months, it was discovered the cancer had moved showing large tumours on my brain.

I was then introduced to The Think Pink Foundation by the Breast Care Nurse treating me in my country town. After Ryan was born, we needed accommodation whilst I completed a course of radiation in Melbourne. The six hour return trip was too much to take for 10 days straight and just not viable with a new baby. The Living Centre is a really relaxing place I call my home away from home. I can only describe it as a little hidden oasis surrounded by support. I m so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay and I am forever grateful. If it wasn t for the support and help from The Think Pink Foundation and The Living Centre, treatment would have been a lot harder and a lot more stressful for my family. I am currently free of disease after lots of love, prayers, chemo and support from many including the wonderful ladies at The Think Pink Foundation and very happy to report am alive and well and way past my initial prognosis. I can t speak for other people, however I often wonder where funding is used in a number of charities. I know first hand that Think Pink Foundation offers direct support to those dealing with Breast Cancer. Their support is practical and genuine including their emergency accommodation as well as the programs and professional affliations offering tools for women and their families during their time of need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Think Pink Foundation.
