Research Experience July, 2015 - Present April, 2015 - Present Sept, 2014 - Present Inappropriate requests for MRI examination of the shoulder, William S. Middleton Veterans Affairs Hospital, Madison, WI IRB approved retrospective cohort study of shoulder MRI resource utilization and ordering practice within the Madison VA hospital. Served as PI for retrospective evaluation of shoulder MRI ordering practice, appropriateness of resource utilization, for the purposes of identifying root causes of resource overutilization and increased imaging wait times. Role of variant iliopsoas tendon anatomy in central iliopsoas impingement. University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI IRB approved retrospective cohort study of hip MRI and surgical findings in patients with central iliopsoas impingement to determine the prevalence of variant multitendon anatomy relative to a control population. Served as co-investigator and mentored a medical student research assistant to perform retrospective data acquisition, data analysis, and statistical testing. Classification of long head biceps tendon injuries with MRI, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI IRB approved retrospective cohort study of MRI diagnostic performance for classification of long head biceps tendon injuries of the shoulder. Served as project lead and study design architect for retrospective imaging evaluation of shoulder MRI studies to assess diagnostic performance of imaging interpretation. Coordinated independent expert review to assess diagnostic performance metrics, and performed primary data analysis and statistical testing. June, 2011 July, 2013 Ultrasound evaluation of cervical spine bone and soft tissue morphology in adults, with cross-sectional imaging correlation, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA IRB approved study investigating the suitability of ultrasound for evaluation of bone and soft tissue morphology of the cervical spine from an anterior approach. Duties involve performance of ultrasound examinations of adult patients in the Brigham and Women's Hospital Emergency Department, with prospective and retrospective 9

evaluation of ultrasound and CT images to obtain morphologic measurements. Perform statistical evaluation of measurements to determine the degree of correlation, for early validation of imaging technique to be employed in future studies. Dec, 2010 - Present Feb, 2007 June, 2007 Sept, 2005 Jan, 2007 June, 2004- Aug, 2004 Evaluation of potential bias in radiology residency applicant interview feedback, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA An ongoing study of radiology residency interview applicant feedback to evaluate for potential sources of bias, with particular interest in investigating for bias relating to the perception of a lack of feedback anonymity. Developed an experiment protocol involving a standardized interview feedback questionnaire and data collection mechanism, as well as formal method of statistical evaluation. Data collection ongoing. Bioinformatics Systems Analyst, University of Chicago Cancer Research Center, Chicago, IL Developed a patient data tracking and management software system for long-term clinical chemotherapy drug trials. Optimized existing research study protocols, and consulted on future study designs of cancer therapies, including statistical and clinical work. Research and Teaching Assistant, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA Worked in a dual capacity, completing research while simultaneously serving as a Teaching Assistant for the Human Factors Engineering graduate course in the Aeronautics and Astronautics department at MIT. Research duties included development of a human subject research design protocol, conducting human experiments, training and overseeing subordinates in experimental procedure, and development and utilization of data analysis tools for eventual peer reviewed publication. NASA Summer Research Internship, NSBRI/NASA-JSC, Houston, TX Performed research in the Neuroautonomics laboratory at the Johnson Space Center (JSC), sponsored by the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI). Duties involved engineering a software system for automatic filtering of premature ventricular contractions (PVC) from 10

electrocardiograph data (ECG), while providing automated interpretation of heart-rate variability. The position involved significant coding in C/C++, as well as clinical interpretation of ECG pathology.
