Dr. Tom Rose to Lead Metro At today s meeting, Dr. Tom Rose became Metro s 25 th president. Several milestones will occur during Dr. Rose s presidency. In June, 2018, Metro will celebrate the 25 th anniversary of the club charter. In April, 2018, Metro will celebrate the 15 th anniversary of its Partner in Education relationship with the Columbia Public Schools Title I program. Tom began by outlining the year ahead. He indicated it would be a year of fun, but we would also be making a difference. He presented the 2017-18 Presidential Citation requirements and the club budget for the year. He noted the club was already in the process of pursuing a District Simplified Grant to assist with the purchase of books for the Columbia Public Schools Title I students. President Tom gave a modified classification talk which gave members an opportunity to learn more about him. He has three older brothers and one younger sister, and he spoke of the importance his Catholic faith has had in his life and education. He noted he has great respect for diversity, and he values the opinions of all. Tom received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri in 1988. He is married to Lisa, and they have three daughters, Teresa, Maria and Nicole. He is also the proud grandfather to a grandson. Tom is the co-owner and managing partner of Rolling Hills Veterinary Hospital. They have two locations in Columbia, and he enjoys helping dogs and cats with their medical needs.
