Characteristics of Developed Film Density - degree of darkness (blackness) Contrast - darkness & lightness on various areas of film Radiopaque - dense structures that do not permit passage of x -radiation; more radiopaque. Radiolucent - less dense tissues that do permit passage of x-radiation; more radiolucent.
