USER'S REQUIREMENTS If potntially dangrous situations ar known, accidnts can b prvntd! Mntal: th usrs must undrstand and follow th prscribd norms, ruls and safty masurs. Thy must b carful, pay attntion to thir own safty and th safty of othr popl and act proprly and in a rsponsibl way. Training: th usrs must rad and undrstand this manual, its picturs and charts, and th idntification and hazard plats. Thy must b spcializd, traind and qualifid on any us and maintnanc activitis. PREPARATION Prpar th work: Do not drink alcohol, tak drugs, or any othr substancs which may affct your ability to us th quipmnt bfor or whn working. Mak sur that thr is sufficint ful in th tractor to prvnt th machin from stopping during work. Do not us th quipmnt undr unsaf conditions,.g. do not mak tmporary rpairs just to start or kp working; do not work at night if th ara is not wll illuminatd. Whn working or xcuting maintnanc activitis, rmmbr: Th labls and stickrs providing instructions on th us of th quipmnt or information on dangrs must not b rmovd or hiddn, and must b lgibl. Do not rmov th safty dvics, covrs and safty guards, unlss maintnanc activitis ar bing carrid out. If th safty dvics must b rmovd, turn th ngin off, rmov thm corrctly and r-install thm bfor turning th tractor on. Do not lubricat, clan or adjust moving parts. Us th appropriat tools to xcut maintnanc or adjustmnt activitis on th quipmnt. Do not us damagd or unsuitabl tools,.g. plirs rathr than wrnchs tc. Prior to carrying out activitis on hydraulic lins undr prssur, or disconncting thir componnts, mak sur that th lin is no longr undr prssur and that it dos not contain any hot fluids. Chck all th fittings and mak sur that thy ar wll connctd bfor supplying prssur to th hydraulic lins. Mak sur that no tools, cloths or any othr matrials ar lft in aras whr moving parts ar prsnt whn th maintnanc and rpair activitis ar compltd. Do not giv dirctions and mak signals at th sam tim during a manuvr. Manuvr dirctions and signals must b givn from on prson only. Do not unxpctdly call an oprator, if not ncssary. Do not startl th oprator,.g. by throwing objcts. Pay attntion to popl in th vicinity of th work ara, spcially childrn! Mak sur that nobody is standing in th working rang of th quipmnt. Do not us th quipmnt to lift popl. Whn th quipmnt is not ndd, turn th ngin off, lav th vhicl on a flat surfac, with th first gar and th parking brak ngagd. Disngag th powr tak off. Do not xcut any claning, lubrication, rpair or adjustmnts whn th ngin is running and th quipmnt is in th raisd position. Do not work on stp slops, if th stability of th vhicl can b jopardizd. Manufacturr shall not assum any rsponsibilitis if ths instructions ar not strictly followd. Pag 7

SET-UP ATTACHMENT TO THE TRACTOR This tillr may b attachd to any tractor quippd with a Cat. 2, 3-point hitch with suitabl ball nds; it can also b attachd by mans of a Cat. 2 Quick Hitch. 3-POINT CATEGORY 2 HITCH To connct th tillr to th tractor's Cat. 2, 3-point hitch, do th followng oprations: 1) Put th floating brackts in th lowr position insrting th pin A in th uppr hol as shown in pictur 1; this givs you th standard A.S.A.E. vrtical dimnsion of 20" (pictur 2). Th horizontal distanc btwn th brackts is 32 1/2". pictur 1 pictur 2 Pag 8

SET-UP 2) Rmov th cottr pins from th hitch pins (pictur 3); 3) Rmov th lowr hitch pins from th lowr hitch blocks (pictur 3); pictur 3 4) Bfor attaching th quipmnt to th tractor, mak sur that th ground is smooth and flat and that nobody is standing btwn th tractor and th tillr; slowly mov th tractor towards th tillr by aligning th tractor liftr arms with th blocks' hols (pictur 4); turn th ngin off and pull th brak; pictur 4 Pag 9

SET-UP 5) Insrt th lowr hitch pins through th hitch blocks and ball nds (pictur 5); 6) Scur thm by mans of th cottr pins which wr prviously rmovd (pictur 5); pictur 5 7) Connct th tractor top link to th third uppr point by rmoving th pin locatd btwn th two plats, insrting th top link and scuring it by mans of th cottr pin. Shift th parking stand in th uppr position. 8) Adjust th top link so that th uppr part of th fram is paralll to th ground. Block all th linking parts by mans of th sway chains or arms. 9) Mak sur that th cntral unit axis (cas/bvl gar pair) is paralll to th ground, thus minimizing th strsss on th powr tak off and incrasing th working lif of th quipmnt. Aftr xcuting all th abov mntiond activitis, mak sur that all th nuts and bolts ar tightnd. 3-POINT CATEGORY 2 QUICK HITCH Th S Sris Rvrs Tillrs ar Cat. 2 Quick Hitch adaptabl. To attach th implmnt to th tractor it is ncssary to ordr th Quick Hitch Kit composd of 3 bushings. Th following oprations ar ndd: 1) Put th floating brackts in th uppr position insrting th pin in th lowr hol as shown in pictur 7; this givs you th standard A.S.A.E. vrtical dimnsion of 15" (pictur 6). pictur 6 Pag 10

SET-UP 2) Rmov th cottr pin from th hitch pins an dlowr hitch pins from th lowr hitch blocks (pictur 3). 3) Insrt th lowr bushing of th kit in th lowr hitchs (pictur7); 4) Insrt th lowr hitch pins through th hitch block and bushing (pictur 7); 5) Scur it by mans of th cottr pins which wr prviously rmovd (pictur 7); pictur 7 6) Rpat th sam oprations from 2 to 5 for th uppr brackt with th uppr bushing. 7) Bfor attaching th quipmnt to th tractor, mak sur that th ground is smooth and flat and that nobody is standing btwn th tractor and th tillr; slowly mov th tractor towards th tillr by aligning th tractor liftr arms with th brackt hols; turn th ngin off and pull th brak. 8) Lift th Quick Hitch until its hooks ngag th hitchs of th implmnt. 9) Rais th parking stand to th uppr position. SET-UP PTO SHAFT CONNECTION Bfor installing th PTO shaft mak sur that th RPM rating and th dirction of rotation match thos of th tractor. Carfully rad th PTO shaft and tractor instructions. Furthrmor, accuratly rad th instructions of th manufacturr of th PTO shaft and of th tractor. Bfor starting any activity, mak sur that th guards ar installd on th powr tak off of th tractor and PTO shaft. Mak sur that thy covr th PTO shaft throughout its lngth. Whn fully xtndd, th plastic pips must ovrlap by at last 1/3 of th lngth of th pips (LT). Whn rtractd, th minimum accptabl claranc is 2 (pictur 8). SLIP CLUTCH DRIVE SHAFT Chck that th PTO shaft minimum and maximum lngth ar within th paramtrs of th machin tractor coupling. Should problms aris, contact your dalr. Aftr th installation, anchor th PTO shild to th tractor and machin using th spcial chains; mak sur that it turns smoothly. If th PTO shaft is quippd with safty dvics,.g. torqu limitrs or fr-whl dvics, install thm on th oprativ machin sid. For th us and maintnanc of th PTO shaft, plas rfr to th rlvant manual. This tillr has a driv shaft with a slip clutch, which has bn calibratd for a crtain ovrload. To adjust th clutch, tightn or loosn bolts qually. Don t ovr-tightn or clutch will lock and not slip undr strss, which could caus damag during opration. Th clutch assmbly should gt warm (normal tmp. 104-122 F) undr normal opration. If th clutch gts xtrmly hot, this is a sign of slippag. If th machin sits for an xtndd priod of tim with no usag, th bolts should b loosnd and th PTO ngagd. This will allow th clutch discs to bcom fr again. Aftr a fw sconds, shut-off th tractor and rtightn bolts qually. Rchck clutch assmbly for tmpratur aftr using in tilling application. If it is too hot, th bolts nd tightning. If it is too cool, loosn bolts. SPEED GEAR SETUP pictur 8 Th Sris S garbox is providd with two pair of gars. By changing thir rlativ position 4 difffrnt rotor spds ar achivd. Choos th dsird rotor spd and follow th instructions blow: 1) Drain th oil from th garbox; Pag 12
