Our Lady of the Lake Children s Hospital Cleft and Craniofacial Team Facial Plastic Surgery/Otolaryngology Laura Hetzler, MD, FACS is dual Board Certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. She received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed an internship in General Surgery at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. Dr. Hetzler then pursued advanced training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by completing a Fellowship at University of California, Davis in Sacramento, with a focus on cleft lip and palate surgery. Dr. Hetzler is full time faculty and Associate Professor for LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and is the Program Director for the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residency. Dr. Hetzler began building the Our Lady of the Lake Children s Hospital Cleft and Craniofacial team shortly after her arrival in 2010 and is currently the team director for the clinic. Dr. Hetzler avidly participates in humanitarian missions around the world including China, Central America and South America for cleft lip and palate surgical teams. Craniofacial Plastic Surgery Taylor Theunissen, MD received his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where he is also completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery. He then completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He completed a Fellowship in craniofacial plastic surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Dr. Theunissen is an associate professor of plastic surgery for both Tulane and LSU, and is currently beginning his fifth year of practice in Baton Rouge at Plastic Surgery Consultants. Dental/Prosthodontist Michael J. Maginnis, DDS, MS, FACP, is a private practitioner from Baton Rouge specializing in Removable Prosthodontics. Dr. Maginnis is a 1971 graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry in New Orleans and a 1973 graduate of the Prosthodontics program of the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry at Chapel Hill. Dr. Maginnis is a Diplomate to the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists. From 1973 to 2014, he was an active member of the East Baton Rouge Parish Cleft Palate Team and a consultant to the Louisiana State University Graduate Speech Department. In 2014, Dr. Maginnis was presented with the Louisiana Dental Association Distinguished Service Award for his years of service to organized dentistry.

Pediatric Neurosurgeon Pediatrician Pedodontists Allen S. Joseph, MD, received his medical degree from Baylor University and completed an internship with Ben Taub Hospital in Houston. Dr. Joseph completed both his surgical and neurosurgical residencies with the Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgical at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. He has served as the Chief of Neurosurgical Service with Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington and the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery of Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Joseph currently serves as an assistant professor of pediatrics and neurosurgery with the LSU School of Medicine and as an assistant professor of neurosurgery with Tulane School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Roberta Carona Vicari, MD is a Baton Rouge native who is committed to the advancement of children s safety and wellness through community awareness. After graduating from LSU in Baton Rouge in Biochemistry, she attended the LSU School of Medicine. Then, upon completing pediatric residency with LSU at Earl K. Long, she served as a general pediatrician for 20 years. In 2002, Dr. V joined Our Lady of the Lake as the first Medical Director for Children s Services. Under her leadership, Our Lady of the Lake developed its children s services into Our Lady of the Lake Children s Hospital. Roberta is currently the Pediatric Division Chief at Our Lady of the Lake Children s Hospital and serves in multiple organizations. One can easily see how Dr. Vicari was honored as a Master Pediatrician by the LA Academy of Pediatrics (2014); still, she gives her husband, Frank, and their children credit for inspiring her to be faith-filled and an advocate for those in need. Robert Delarosa, DDS is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Dentists. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, where he received the ASDC Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in Pediatric Dentistry. He completed his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, serving as senior chief resident. He has lectured extensively to many organizations and groups, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and (g)nathos. He is a published author and was the Chair of the Council on Clinical Affairs of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has served as the District V Trustee, Secretary-Treasurer, and currently holds the office of Vice President to the Board of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has also served in various leadership roles and holds membership in several prestigious state and national dental associations.

Bradley Comeaux, DDS is a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. He completed his dental training at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Dr. Comeaux completed his residency in General Dentistry at LSU School of Dentistry and in Pediatric Dentistry at LSU and Children's Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Comeaux has been involved in several research projects all aimed at the improvement of materials used in dentistry. Dr. Comeaux is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, and active member of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Paige Sigsworth, DDS graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Dr. Sigsworth then proceeded to LSU School of Dentistry earning her DDS degree. She completed her two year residency in Pediatric Dentistry at LSU School of Dentistry and Children's Hospital of New Orleans. Dr. Sigsworth is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, an active member in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She continues to stay abreast of the most current techniques as she regularly attends continuing education seminars and lecturers. Brynn Lewis Leroux, DDS is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. She then attended Medical University of South Carolina to complete a two year residency in Pediatric Dentistry, acting as Chief Resident during the second year of her program. A native of Maringouin, LA, Dr. Leroux graduated as Valedictorian from Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee in 2000 and continued on to study Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Throughout her educational vocation, Dr. Leroux has received numerous awards, scholarships, and honors. Dr. Leroux is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, American Dental Association, Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Society, C. Edmund Kells Honorary Society, and Pierre Fauchard Honor Society.

Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Genetics Michael Casadaban, DDS, MD, is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon who received both his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and his Doctorate of Medicine degrees from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Casadaban completed his post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including a one-year general surgery internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Casadaban is directly affiliated with teaching residents from his former program at LSU as a Clinical Assistant Professor. This involves resident teaching at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. There he offers his expertise in oral and facial trauma care. Years of extensive training have allowed him to offer a wide variety of oral and facial procedures to his patients. Duane Superneau, MD is Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Clinical Genetics, and is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Superneau also completed a Fellowship in Medical Genetics at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Department of Medical Genetics. Dr. Superneau evaluates and tests individuals and families for possible genetic syndromes and disorders. He provides genetic counseling for his patients and their families to address causes, inheritance patterns, medical management, and recurrence risks for the genetic and non-genetic issues identified during the course of evaluation. Dr. Superneau will also discuss with individuals and families any concerns they may have about their family history, including the occurrence of birth defects and concerns about hereditary predisposition to cancer. Audiologist Wendy A. Jumonville received her Master of Science in Audiology, from Purdue University. She has worked as a Pediatric Audiologist at Denver Children s Hospital, where she was a member of the Cleft Palate Team and the Louisiana School for the Deaf. Wendy is currently on faculty at LSU in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and is Coordinator of Clinical Services. In addition, she currently provides contract services to the Louisiana Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program as an Outreach Specialist. Wendy's areas of specialty include Newborn Hearing Screening and Auditory Processing Disorders.

Orthodontists David Balhoff, DDS Dr. Balhoff is a native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of Catholic High School. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in 2000, Dr. Balhoff graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, LA in 2006 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Balhoff went on to complete his Orthodontics Residency at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in June 2008. He has published both research and clinical orthodontic articles in the Journal of Orthodontics (2009) and Orthotown (2014) magazine, respectively. Dr. Balhoff served as the 2010 President of the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association and still remains active in all local and state dental associations. He also became the first Orthodontist to start the charitable arm of Smiles Change Lives in the state of Louisiana. In 2013 Dr. Balhoff completed the Full FACE Course (Functional And Cosmetic Excellence). Stephen L. Sherman, DDS is an orthodontic specialist in Baton Rouge, Geismar and Central. Louisiana. Upon receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in 1976, he graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1983 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. In 1985, Dr. Sherman earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry Orthodontics Department. He has lectured at both local and national meetings and is active in his local and state dental associations, having served as president of the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association and the Louisiana Orthodontic Association.
