How to Ingest Herbs Herbal Preparations Fresh or dried in cooking Teas/Tisanes steeped for drinking Tinctures infused in alcohol Infused Vinegars or Oils Frozen in ice cubes Syrups and Honeys with herb concentrate Essential oils, sachets, aromatherapy
Have a cup of tea Teas vs. Tisanes
Use Leaves & Flowers Making Tisane Infusions Fresh or Dried Plant Material Steep and Strain Add Honey, Lemon, Sugar, Milk etc.
Using Leaves & Flowers Tisane Proportion Guidelines 1 tsp dried plant material per 1 cup water 3 tsp fresh herbs = 1 tsp dried herbs Example: 3 teaspoons fresh peppermint & 3 teaspoons fresh thyme 2 cups water
Using Roots Root Decoction Dig, Scrub, Chop and Dry Boil 2 cups water and add 1-2 tsp to taste Boil for 15-20 minutes and strain and enjoy
