1 September 1st, 2016 The July District 61 A.A. The calendar and meeting minutes were approved with minor amendments. Concept _9 was read by Derek A... Concept 10 will be by Peg F. presented on Oct 6 th Please note this was an Election Meeting. A motion was made to conduct the Election Portion first and use whatever remaining time we had for regular District Meeting Business. Motion passed. Election Portion ended at 7:15. You will notice some more than usual absent Committee Chair reports, there was not time to present the reports and you should look for them next month. Archives: Claudia B. Attitude Of Gratitude: Laurie C. The committee met August 25 at 7:00. We now have a volunteer from Al-Anon and welcome Robyn M. Details and fliers have been finalized and should be available tonight. Thank you, Carol. Arranged for taping of the speakers and the Old Timer s Meeting. Thank you, Tim. We still need volunteers to chair workshops and marathon meetings. If interested, talk to Terry S. Also still asking for donations for hospitality room. Dale K. and Tim Q. are collecting items for the raffle. Next meeting is September 22, 2016 at 7:00 at the First Baptist Church. Thanks for letting me serve. Laurie Bridging the Gap: Patricia H. The disease of alcoholism is alive & well. I sadly report that my BTG counterpart in Butte that does the presentation with me at WATCH has been out on a runner. I talked to him this afternoon and he is back with 5 days sober. As a result he will not be able to go into the correctional facilities. There is a temporary fill in set up for now. Butte s District Meeting is the 2 nd Tuesday of the month at that time more will unfold. I am staying in contact with Butte/Anaconda to make sure nothing falls through the Cracks in the meantime. On a good note it has been another successful month. I have received forms from WATCH, Connections Corrections and Elkhorn Treatment Center. All information has been passed on to the proper Districts. I am reminded that all I have is a daily reprieve CONTINGENT on my fit spiritual condition. I am so grateful for my sobriety and thak you for letting me serve. Patricia Corrections: Shawn N. Lewis & Clark Men s 1

Elections are next month and committee members are encouraged to run and/or recruit prospective candidates District Report Elections are in September, and as with the corrections committee, members are encouraged to run/and or recruit candidates. The next Corrections Committee meeting will be held on September 19, 2016 Cooperation with the Professional Community: Derek A. Grapevine: Vacant 2

3 Literature Store: Karla F. As of August 31, the book store took in $109.00. Yes, it is summer, yes everyone is out fishing or water skiing and yes everyone is just plain out having fun...but the good news is Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas is right around the corner so get your sponsee, sponsor gift soon.. The utility bill for the months was 33.92. We seem to have lot of guests in the Lit store though...so we are being of service, and coffee is being served... Thank you for letting me serve, karla flanders Public Information/Answering Service- Ken D. Treatment: Carly G. No report Workshops: Gerry R. It was another slow month in August, but I do anticipate getting at least one more workshop in before I rotate on from this position. Last month I was asked about having another post Assembly info dump workshop after Fall Assembly, but I m not sure there will be that much information for chairs to share about. Outside of two or three minor Area items, and the elections, there are only review and report items on the Area agenda. If you haven t seen a copy yet, go to aamontana.org and it s posted there. I might still try to get that Three Legacies workshop set up for late October or early November. It will be good for those who are newly elected to attend. All you old hands can come too. I ll let you know at the next district meeting. I hope everyone has plans for standing for a position either tonight, at Area Assembly, or in your Home Group. Trusted servants are a rare commodity and the more people who are willing to serve, the better we are at carrying the message. What a joy to be sober today What a privilege to be of service. Thank you for both. Gerry R. 3

4 District Committee Member (DCM) Rebecca S. Greetings all. This month, let s do something different from the usual report. Tradition Nine: AA, as such, ought never be organized; but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve. 1. Do I still try to boss things in AA? 2. Do I resist formal aspects of AA because I fear them as authoritative? 3. Am I mature enough to understand and use all elements of the AA program even if no one makes me do so with a sense of personal responsibility? 4. Do I exercise patience and humility in any AA job I take? 5. Am I aware of all those to whom I am responsible in any AA job? 6. Why doesn t every AA group need a constitution and bylaws? 7. Have I learned to step out of an AA job gracefully and profit thereby when the time comes? 8. What has rotation to do with anonymity? With humility? Thank-you to everyone who serve on this rotation and to all those that will serve on the next. Thank-you for letting me serve. Rebecca Treasurer Report: Eric G.
