When you become a leader, success is all about growing others. ~ Jack Welch I recently came across this statement and really stopped to think about how it relates to Women in Leadership. As an organization, our commitment has been to promote leadership among women by providing mentoring, networking, and educational opportunities. WIL s membership is full of individuals who aspire to continue to grow professionally and personally and WIL is providing the opportunity to do just that. The theme of our December luncheon is "Gifts". In addition to providing the opportunity to give gifts to each of the organizations listed below, we will be discussing "The 12 Gifts of WIL." We want to ensure our members know all that their membership with Women in Leadership provides! Please join us at our December luncheon at the IVY Club on Thursday, December 14 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Kinds regards, Stephanie J. Petri, CPA President, Women in Leadership of Central Illinois 1

If you would like to support one or more of these groups (children, women, or seniors), a top ten wish list from each organization is listed below. Donated items need to be unwrapped and can be brought to the December luncheon. If you are unable to attend but would like to donate items, you can give them to someone else who will be attending or you can take the items directly to the organization. As for receiving gifts, your membership in Women In Leadership can be a gift to yourself in many ways. Do you know all that your membership provides? Financial Advisor at Robert W. Baird - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What was your first job? I worked in jewelry sales at K s Merchandise Mart here in Peoria. For those not local to the area, it was a local department store on Pioneer Parkway that sadly closed while I was in college. What led you to your profession? It is something I grew up with as my father is also a financial advisor. What do you like most about working for your company? Baird is a large employee-owned global investment and wealth management firm. Headquarters is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, so the Midwest values that resonate so heavily in this community drive nearly every aspect of the firm. What do you like most about WILCI? It s a great opportunity to meet other like-minded women. Who or what inspires you? My father. He is my business partner and mentor. Other interesting tidbit about me: I have been in karate for 23 years. I am a 4 th degree black belt and two-time international sparring champion. 5
