HOW TO USE THE BENCHMARK CALENDAR SYSTEM 1. Go to Website http://doris.clk.co.st-johns.fl.us/benchmarkweb 2. You can use Firefox or Internet Explorer 11 to login to Benchmark. Compatibility mode is no longer needed for Internet Explorer. 3. Type in your username and password on the top left of the page and hit the Login button. (If you do not have a username and password, go to http://www.sjccoc.us/records/search-courtrecords/forms-for-online-viewing-of-court-documents/ to download the application for Benchmark Judicial Viewer access.) 4. To find available hearing time, select the Report menu from the Navigation Bar on the left 5. Select the Available Hearing Times report 1 P a g e
6. In the Report Options window, choose a beginning and end date, the appropriate Division/Judge and the Event Type needed, then click Submit 7. A PDF report will display on-screen showing all available hearing dates 8. Discuss available dates with all parties and decide on a mutually acceptable date and time before scheduling the hearing 2 P a g e
9. To schedule the selected hearing time, select Calendar from the Navigation Bar on the left 10. The Calendar will be displayed on the right of the screen. The default view is Month displaying all scheduled court events. Click the Select Judge drop down menu and choose TRAYNOR, J MICHAEL to view only events on the calendar for Division 55. 11. Go to the date found on the Available Hearing Time report that was agreeable to all parties. 12. When you have found an open block, click to select the block and the Court Event box will appear on the upper left. Click the Schedule Case button to schedule your hearing. If the Schedule Case button does not appear, it is not available for online scheduling and you must contact the judicial assistant. 13. The Add Case to Court Event pop-up window appears. Search for your case either by entering a case number or a party name and hit the Find button. 3 P a g e
14. Make sure you enter the hearing specifics and amount of time needed (Motion for Summary Judgment 30 minutes, Motion to Compel 15 min, Motion to Dismiss 15 minutes, etc.) in the Event Note field. 15. Find your case in the search results and click the Add to add to the docket. NOTE: The Add and Print Notice option is not available to attorneys. 16. If more than 15 minutes is needed, the case will need to be scheduled for multiple blocks consecutively (two blocks for 30 minutes, three for 45 minutes, four for 60 minutes). Any scheduling over one hour will need to be made with the judicial assistant. It is critically important that the time reserved for the hearing be appropriate so that other hearings can start on time. Schedule hearings sequentially with no gaps between hearings. 17. When a hearing is successfully scheduled, you will see a prompt at the bottom of the screen. 18. To verify the hearing is scheduled, click the View Docket button and confirm the case is on the docket. 4 P a g e
IMPORTANT REMINDERS!!! 1. Calendar dates which are blank or have OTHER COURT BUSINESS scheduled are not available for hearings. In order to schedule a hearing, there must be an event block created. 2. If the event the Schedule Case button does not appear, this event is NOT OPEN for online booking. Only HEARING (CIVIL) events with open slots (0/1) will be available for scheduling!!! 3. You cannot add a case to a court event when the event is full. If you try to schedule an event to a full docket, a request is sent to the judicial assistant for review, and will most likely be rejected. 5 P a g e
4. If you receive the prompt when scheduling a hearing that your case was added to a queue for approval, it has been sent to the judicial assistant for review. Your hearing IS NOT on the docket. 5. Your queued cases will appear on the top left of the screen when you login to Benchmark and view the Calendar. 6.
