For additional information on toxicity, please refer to Section 11. Section 4 - First Aid Measures ORAL EXPOSURE If swallowed, wash out mouth with water provided person is

conscious. Call a physician immediately. INHALATION EXPOSURE If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. DERMAL EXPOSURE In case of skin contact, flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician. EYE EXPOSURE In case of contact with eyes, flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Assure adequate flushing by separating the eyelids with fingers. Call a physician. Section 5 - Fire Fighting Measures FLASH POINT AUTOIGNITION TEMP FLAMMABILITY EXTINGUISHING MEDIA Suitable: Dry chemical powder. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT Respiratory: Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU). Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face particle respirator type N99 (US) or type P2 (EN 143) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering controls. If the respirator is the sole means of protection, use a full-face supplied air respirator. Hand: Compatible chemical-resistant gloves. Eye: Chemical safety goggles. GENERAL HYGIENE MEASURES Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Wash thoroughly after handling. Section 10 - Stability and Reactivity STABILITY Stable: Stable. Materials to Avoid: Strong oxidizing agents, Iodine compounds, Hydrogen peroxide. HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS Hazardous Decomposition Products: Sulfur oxides, Lead/lead oxides. HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur Section 11 - Toxicological Information ROUTE OF EXPOSURE Skin Contact: May cause skin irritation. Skin Absorption: May be harmful if absorbed through the skin. Eye Contact: May cause eye irritation. Inhalation: Harmful if inhaled. Material may be irritating to mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed. TARGET ORGAN(S) OR SYSTEM(S) Blood. Kidneys. Nerves. Lungs. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE Lead salts have been reported to cross the placenta and to induce embryo- and feto- mortality. They also have teratogenic effect in some animal species. No teratogenic effects have been reported with exposure to organometallic lead compounds. Adverse effects of lead on human reproduction, embryonic and fetal development, and postnatal (e.g., mental) development have been reported. Excessive exposure can affect blood, nervous, and digestive systems. The synthesis of hemoglobin is inhibited and results in anemia. If left untreated, neuromuscular dysfunction, possible paralysis, and encephalopathy can result. Additional symptoms of overexposure include: joint and muscle pain, weakness of the extensor muscles (frequently the hand and wrist), headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, blue line on the gums, insomnia, and metallic taste. High body levels produce increased cerebrospinal pressure, brain damage, and stupor leading to coma and often death. CHRONIC EXPOSURE - CARCINOGEN Result: This product is or contains a component that has been reported to be possibly carcinogenic based on its IARC, ACGIH, NTP, or EPA classification. ACGIH CARCINOGEN LIST Rating: A3 CHRONIC EXPOSURE - TERATOGEN Result: Possible risk of congenital malformation in the fetus. CHRONIC EXPOSURE - REPRODUCTIVE HAZARD Result: May cause reproductive disorders. Section 12 - Ecological Information ALDRICH - 372595 www.sigma-aldrich.com Page 4
