Joseph and I attended the District Foundation talk on Friday. There are a few projects in which our club could become involved. Joseph will talk to us at the meeting about the various projects. I will be circulating a spread sheet to be completed by each member. Please fill the hours and activities against your name. This will then be forwarded to Alma Reynolds. Regards John APOLOGIES: Would all members please ring or email another member if they are not able to attend a regular meeting of the club, if they find they have another engagement? 5 Dear Fellow Rotarians, This coming week I am presenting the Rotary in Action program again on Tuesday afternoon between 4.00 5.00pm I have found that whilst it has been offered before, there seems to be minimal reaction to use this broadcast opportunity, so I decided to test your interest. I am happy to make announcements of your scheduled Rotary events in August - September on your behalf, remembering that this month is The Membership and Extension Month. The topics this week will be Membership, as well as the involvement of the Rotary Cluster Clubs of Manningham with the Manningham Business Excellence Awards Program, now in its 5th year. At the same time if you want to announce your message in person, you re welcome to visit me in the studio, but give me advance notice for program editing purposes or it will cause a Radio Panic reaction from me. With this email I have only emailed the clubs which I know are well within reach of the broadcasting area and next month I may extend that with a bit more preparation. Please email your information before Tuesday Midday please, so I can schedule it into the program. Please use email address ( erik.rubens2003@gmail.com or the sender address ) and not the one in the latest District Directory which is incorrect as is my profession.. As most of you will know ( or ref district 9810 directory ) I am a member of The Rotary Club of Templestowe and share the presentation of this program with a few others. Looking forward to hearing from you, Enjoy the Weekend, Regards, Erik Rubens Presenting Nice & Easy ( 7.00 10.00pm) and Rotary in Action ( 4pm) on selected dates for

6 One of our favourite exchange students from back in the early 2000s is visiting Melbourne this week with her husband Louis, and her two small children, Celeste and Ophelia It has been a great experience for members of our club to keep track of past Rotary Exchange Students. We had a great time with Sabine from Villefranche (south of Lyon), and before her Gwen from Belgium. Description of Rotary Rotary is an organisation of Business and Professional persons, united world wide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in all the world.
