Team Academy Fact File Program of entrepreneurship development, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Finland. Founder: Johannes Partanen in 1993. Annual budget (for education): 0,5 million. 180 students, 4 coaches. Team learning and learning by doing. Innovative pedagogy and learning practices. Real companies owned by students. Adult learning programs.

TeamFactory A fractal of Team Academy in Paris. Supported by Solvay, Région Ile de France and 30 individuals, companies and organizations. Non-profit educational organization. Dedicated to promoting team-entrepreneurship in Paris. Contributes to individual and team development in a vision of a sustainable world.

Impact on Solvay: Strategy and Dialogue with Stakeholders TeamFactory is inspiring the strategy of Solvay. At the moment, Solvay executives are in the process of defining Solvay as learning society, to support the challenges of Sustainable Development. TeamFactory is giving models for dialogue between stakeholders. TeamFactory is accelerating change in Solvay.

Impact on Team Academy: Morale Boost and Cultural Understanding Increased internal drive and morale boost on using the practices outside the university. Strengthened brand because of collaboration with Solvay (major company). Knowledge on how to start an operational unit (school or business unit) similar to Team Academy in EU - increased understanding on cultural and contextual differences.

Part Four After the Play Lessons Learnt

Lesson One: Grassroots Change Management Individuals and small teams on all organizational levels can change big organizations like Solvay... It is not only the top that can change the organization... Today s rapidly changing environment requires change management activity from all levels... This is the idea of learning organization in practice.

Lesson Two: New Management Practices Tomorrow s management practices include such themes as entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, partnerships, open innovation, social change... Small and innovative organizations like Team Academy are the pioneers in the development of new management practices... bigger organizations will adapt these practices from smaller ones.

Lesson Three: It s All About the Young People! Team Academy is a weak signal of the learning organization for the 21st century. Too few leaders of traditional organizations are capable of observing these seeds for future. It is crucial to reveal the new processes for leadership, innovation and sustainable development. Having young team entrepreneurs deeply living this new social and economic world very close to the old traditional big company is helping a lot the necessary changes that we have to introduce.

Part Five Encores The Future of Cooperation Between Team Academy and Solvay

Towards Future Solvay will go on supporting TeamFactory. Team Academy with her European network will grow internationally. TeamFactory will be the place for experimentation and creation of new knowledge for both founders.
