What is a Special Interest Group (SIG)? Member-driven group interested in a specific topic SIG membership is open to all ISPOR members PURPOSE Monitor & share information related to the topic To engage ISPOR members in projects that advance health economics and outcomes research and the use of this research in health care decisions 3 New Special Interest Group Structure Special Interest Group Chair, Past Chair, Chair-elect Key Project Working Group* Co-chairs (e.g., manuscript for Value in Health) Member Engagement Working Group Co-chairs (e.g., a webinar or journal club SIG Membership * Working Group formerly known as Leadership Group 4 2
Governance Chair Past Chair (chair will move to this position next year) Chair-elect Each of the above chair positions consists of a 1-year term. Working Group Co-Chairs Key Project Serve until the project is complete (average 24 months) Member Engagement Projects Serve for at least one year To be considered for a chair or co-chair position, please submit your current CV to sigs@ispor.org 5 Chair, Past Chair, Chair-elect Responsibilities Provide overall direction and leadership Identify topics that SIG members would like to address Assist the Working Group Co-Chairs to ensure the timeliness of projects Categorizing topics into long and short term projects Address any issues within the group Identify the appropriate platforms for delivery 6 3
Chair, Past Chair, Chair-elect Responsibilities - 2 Provide quarterly updates to the SIG membership Report the progress of the SIG projects Recruit new SIG members Current activities, new developments in field Via the yearly business and project plans to HSPC 7 Working Groups The Working Group Co-Chairs develop and lead the project. Each SIG will have 2 Working Groups Key Project (e.g., an article for Value Outcomes & Spotlight or a manuscript for Value in Health, developing a short or a distance-learning course) Member Engagement (e.g., develop a webinar or a quarterly journal article discussion teleconference, etc.) SIG participation is open to all ISPOR members: All stakeholders in all geographic areas. 8 4
Key Project Working Group Co-Chairs The Working Group Co-chairs are responsible for: Developing and leading an in-scope project Leading teleconferences and small group meetings during ISPOR International Meeting and European Congresses. Meeting project deadlines! Adherence to ISPOR processes Address any conflicts or issues that arise 9 Member Engagement Working Group Co-Chairs The Working Group Co-chairs will be responsible for: Identifying member engagement topics, e.g., a hot topic within the broader SIG topic. Identifying speakers for a webinar or journal articles for member for a quarterly journal article club (like book club) Ensuring that all member engagement activities take place in a timely manner. Presenting the working group s work products at other organization s meetings, e.g., AMCP Leading the teleconferences & adhering to ISPOR processes Address any conflicts or issues that arise You are encouraged to be creative! 10 5

Potential Research Topics - 1 A topic that merges the concepts of MN and economics: Break down the components of a NE analysis, consider what is typically collected, what should be collected and the options for the type of analysis based on the question being asked (and the available data). Estimating value of the device facilitating nutrition supplementation distinctly versus the value of the nutritional supplement/formula 17 Potential Research Topics - 2 Identify how clinical nutrition practices is priced or reimbursed in different countries, in order to identify the potential role of nutrition economics would play in the decision making process Total country nutrition s cost in the EU or OECD countries within overall healthcare expenditures and benchmark with nutrition s overall benefit to somehow prove the cost effectiveness 18 9
