Our franchise concept: In 1973 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Smoothie King pioneered the concept of blending nutritional fresh smoothies with a purpose. Using our proprietary products (proteins, various supplements, and real fruits) we continue to develop and engineer functional smoothies to meet the needs of today s consumers. Our business is simple & clean, full of fun & energy, and most of all truly about better health. Essentially we have a dual concept with a wide array of proteins, supplements, and healthy snacks in our retail area. We are proud to be a truly authentic company and we will continue to be on the forefront of new product innovation utilizing the highest quality resources sourced from all over the globe. Our strategy for entering new International markets: Smoothie King is seeking like minded entrepreneurs who share our passion for better and healthier lifestyles to become Master Franchisees or Area Developers. Master Franchisees will open and franchise Smoothie King stores throughout their country and Developers will open stores within their defined territory. Each will be provided on going support and training. A sustainable business: FACTS: Globally, there are more than 1 billion overweight adults, at least 300 million of them obese. Obesity and overweight pose a major risk for chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and stroke, and certain forms of cancer. The key causes are increased consumption of energy-dense foods high in saturated fats and sugars, and reduced physical activity. -World Health Organization 2009 Health and nutrition is quality of life vs. disease and death. There is a magic pill and it is proper nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes if you are going to improve your chances for a quality life. Our business is all about making people aware and providing them with better and convenient solutions to their busy schedules. People will always be hurried and not have time to properly account in their diet for well balanced meals.

Our History: From our humble beginnings in Louisiana in 1973 to having over 600 stores open and operating in 31 states and 2 countries. For 17 years Smoothie King has been ranked #1 in category with Entrepreneur Magazine s Franchise 500 and currently enjoy a 17% market share in the US. 65 stores are now open in Seoul, Korea which was our first International expansion in 2003. Our model has been tested and proven from one extreme to another and we now have an operational and development template for our other International expansions.

The International Programs: The Master Franchise Program is for a local entrepreneur or group that chooses to open a determined amount of corporate stores and then builds an infrastructure to support its growth through sub franchising. Smoothie King provides comprehensive training and on-going support to Master Franchisees. Franchisor experience is strongly recommended. Typical investment costs for a country-level Master Franchise range from $ 600,000USD to over $ 5,000,000USD depending on market size. The Development Agreement is similar to the Master Franchise Agreement but on a smaller scale in terms of both start-up capital and development area. The Development Agreement does not grant the rights to sub franchise and is defined by a number of stores to be developed within a certain geographical area. In order to have economies of scale you would have to develop a minimum number of stores which will be determined on a per market area.
