Clinical Experience. I completed MBBS in 1996 with honours from Christian Medical College Ludhiana affiliated to Panjab University, India. I was awarded the best outgoing intern in the year 1997. I enrolled for post graduate training in India in Internal Medicine in 1997 and obtained Doctor of Medicine (MD with Thesis) on completion in 2000. Thereafter, I went to United Kingdom to pursue super-speciality training in gastroenterology in 2003. I passed the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of UK and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland examinations in 2006 and enrolled in the Specialist Registrar Rotation in the Northern Deanery, United Kingdom. In 2011, I was certified by the UK - Joint Advisory Group (JAG) in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy as an independent GI endoscopist. I received specialist accreditation (CCT) in General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in 2011 by the Post Graduate Education and Training Board (PMETB), UK. Subsequently, I have completed an Advanced Pancreatico-biliary Endoscopy Fellowship at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK for one year specializing in advanced ERCP & EUS. I won the British Society of Gastroenterology visiting fellowship to the Medical University of South Carolina, USA in May 2012. Currently, I am a consultant gastroenterologist, therapeutic endoscopist and endosonologist at the Tata Medical Center in Kolkata, India. The gastroenterology department at the Tata Medical Center is a tertiary referral center for the management of digestive diseases with special interest in GI oncology.
